Yeah, FM is almost CD quality, only the very tops of frequencies are cut off.  128 is serious compression (distortion) - tinny drums and treble mostly

Recording a stream is OK if it's the only option,  but recording a stream is kinda like making an mp3 of an mp3... you're getting a lower quality version of it.
