MMJ at Werchter 2008

Hi all,

According to the Werchter-website MMJ will be playing the festival on friday, the 4th of July. That's the same day as Neil Young!

AND I ALREADY HAVE TICKETS!!

This will require some last minute planning. I'll need to get a day off (should be possible I guess) and probably should order a ticket quite soon to be on the safe side.

Would have preferred a club show over another short festival set, but we'll take what we can get I guess.

Yeah, it ain't bad, but I still think it's an insult to invite the best live band in the world and then give 'em a measly forty minutes  :-/

How do you already know their set is only 40 minutes?

How long do headliners get?
How long to other bands on the main stage get?
How long do bands in the pyramid marquee get?  Is this a very small stage or what?

I don't mind filling you in on the details.

Shows do overlap. I'm only really interested in seeing Neil and MMJ and they won't so that's ok.

Headliners: get 1.5 to two hours. Basically they can do what they want.

Other bands on the main stage: first bands of the day get 45 minutes or something. the bands higher up get to play somewhat longer sets.

Pyramid marquee: Same principle. first bands get  approximately 40-45-50 min. MMJ is one of those since they are not one of the last three bands playing that day. This will leave fans happy, but yearning for MORE.
Headliners here are often dance acts and they can do long sets. It's a great place to see bands though. It's a smaller stage with a tent-like roof. Saw the White Stripes there just before they exploded, one of the greates things I've ever seen.

So this ain't a bad line-up but note that it's spread over four days, expensive if you wanna go to all of them!

Anyway, I've ordered a ticket for Friday, hope I'll be able to get that day off.

How much money should I expect to need from the time my plane lands til the time I leave if I plan on going for all 4 days and camping out on the grounds? (food + bev, random expenses that I am not thinking of)

I was hoping for a pukkelpop gig ... .  I'm returning from a vacation in Spain on saturday, and MMJ plays on friday.

I never expected that they would play at Werchter, Herman shows he has some taste (after all).
