Two years ago this summer was when i discovered the Jacket. Their ACL performance on PBS with death cab for cutie. Originally i had watched it for death cab... oh how things change.
                                   Two Years ago.
I've been infatuated with them ever since. And i STILL havent seen them live yet. As spring was approaching i  told my parents i will drive practically any distance necessary within the midwest  in order to see them this summer, and they had no problem with it. whatsoever. I had VOWED to myself that this would be the summer that i would FINALLY see them.
Turns out, i applied to live in germany for a year as an exchange student. I got it. Sure thats amazing and all...    but i leave July 21.    When MMJ is in Germany, im here in the US... then i leave for germany...... they come to the US.     I have to wait yet ANOTHER year to see them.          Im dying over here........          this ROYALLY sucks.
But i've decided that when i get back next summer, i will see them 3 times! To make up for each year i didnt.
cheers.

That sucks man, but you will be living in Germany for a year so thats pretty damn cool.  Honestly, I think I would postpone the opportunity to see the Jacket if I could do that.  You'll have plenty of chances to see the band but how many times will you get the chance to be an exchange student in Germany?

pauwee,  congrats on the exchange situation!

and the non-jacket situation is lamentable.  i'm sorry you'll miss this fall's tour.  you never know, they may turn up in your neck of the woods before you're back in the u.s.  and travelling in europe isn't as daunting as you might think.  it's a compact area.

as soon as you've learned it, would you let me know the german translation for the phrase "rampant bad-assery?"

thanks!

your pal,
