I just realized that I've got a business trip that will have me in Seattle  the weekend of the show!   :D

Anyone here hitting that show?

I wish. The pacific northwest is BEAUTIFUL! Best mac-n-cheese in the world at Pikes Market :D
the fruit bats love makin' made all the kids cry

I haven't been out there in years.  Have been to Bumbershoot a few times and also out to the Gorge.  It is beautiful out there... :)

Mental note:  get the mac-n-cheese at the Market.

If you can get to Portland, you should consider Saturday night at the Edgefield.  I am going to that show and Seattle on Sunday!

Another Evil tour Urge...love it!  How long a drive is it from Seattle to Portland?  Is there a train or bus that runs between the two cities?

I just told (emailed) a friend that I wasn't doing the tour, but so far it's looking like NYC>VA>DC>SEA for sure and possibly Miami, Philly, and now Portland.  ;D

Oh yes, it is worth the drive.  McMenamin's opened up part of the lawn for shows a few years back and it is now my favorite NW venue.  There are trees for shade, copious amounts of McMenamin's wine and beer, GA seating, and beautiful scenery.
There is a great train connect between Portland and Seattle, you would need to get a cab though from the train station and I am not sure how much that would run you.  But it is only a 3 hour drive (and it is flat and easy).  You will be so close, you should consider it.  I love the idea of a woodsy, GA show on Saturday and a sit-down auditorium on Sunday.

I'm going to the one in Seattle! I'm from Portland though, (I go to school in Seattle) and I LOVE Edgefield. I saw Wilco there last August and it was the best show I have ever seen. It's deceptively large, but still extremely intimate. Perfect venue.

The Seattle venue I've never been too, and it's usually an Opera house. Most of the people I've talked to found it interesting that they're playing there, but they said it's a beautiful and very professional place. I just wish it was General Admission, but I'm sure we'll all be standing anyways.

PS- The drive from Seattle to downtown Portland will take you a little over 3 hours, and the drive from Portland to Troutdale where Edgefield is will take 45+ minutes (traffic will be HORRIBLE before the show though as will parking...we waited at the exit off the freeway forever...thankfully we had VIP parking so we didn't have to wait too long once we got there) but well worth it. Get there early if you go!

Very sound advice....we lucked out for Wilco and got one of the last roadside spots to park.  For Stevie Wonder we were parked forever and a year away.
One other piece of advice for driving to Edgefield.  The left hand turn lane for the exit they advertise is soooooooo hard to turn on (and the light is short).  Try getting off one exit prior or after.....
Me, I think I am heading out early and we are going to rent a limo  [smiley=beer.gif]

Thanks for the tips, y'all!   :)

Edgefield looks lovely...definitely going to start looking into to my transportation options for that show and I should probably grab tix for the Seattle show now.   I've never been this happy to travel for work.  :)

Wizzard...totally drifting here, but I got to see Stevie Wonder at the Jazz Fest in New Orleans this year.  It was so incredible!  I hope that the show at Edgefield was great, too!  :)
