For those of you winging in from out of town for the NYE show I thought I would suggest a few ideas of where you might consider staying while in town .....

First off .... Think JERSEY! There are numerous good hotels right outside the City. Prices will be much lower for a room and any of them are fairly cheap cab ride from the Garden after the show.

And regardless of the stigma that the Village People cast upon it ....
The YMCA! The Manhattan Y is actually very clean and neat. And inexpensive.

A friend I met at Gov't Mule last New Year's turned me onto his brilliant find: If you ever served in any branch of the military, you can book a room at the Soldiers and Sailors Home. Very nice and reasonably priced. All you need is proof of military service.

And no.

The KISS ARMY does not count.

And finally ..... If the Swedish Women's Volleyball Team is thinking of going to the concert .....

.... You can stay at my house

I can get the wife and kids a room at the YMCA that night.

8-)
Thank you .... You've been a lovely audience ....I'll be here all week .... Try the veal!

Yes .....

But more along the Manson or Adams Family vein than the Partridge or Osmonds ...........

The kids are still small enough you can sneak them into a hotel in the luggage ....

.... You just have to fold them up like little card tables

Anyway... Jersey is definitely the way to go. Back when the show was announced I booked a room in Rutherford for less than $200, easily would have been about $500 in Manhattan. Just a quick train ride back after the show.
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.
