smallest venue of 2008 tour

I was bored, so I looked into it:
Stubb's is about 2,500
Orlando and Myrtle Beach HOBs are each around 2,000
The Joint at the Hard Rock holds 2,000 GA
Marquee in Tempe holds 1,500

I thought it might be the Constition Hall in DC because it looks really, really small in pictures but it holds 3,700. Certainly not big but still twice as many as the Marquee in Tempe.

sweet.  i might have to make my way to tempe.  i'm going to my local show at the greek theatre in berkeley.  don't me wrong, its nice, but a venue that holds 8000 will never feel intimate...

I disagree.  I think it depends on the band.  When I saw Radiohead at the Greek two years ago, it felt really intimate.  When I saw Death Cab For Cutie there a few months later, not so much.

i would think the Palladium in Dallas is pretty small, it will sure feel that way when I go straight there from the DFW airport after seeing the boys at Red Rocks! ;D

Thinking about this tour makes me smile!

These guys are getting the opportunity to play so many cool venues!  Riverfront shows in their hometowns of Nashville and Louisville, Red Rocks, The Greek, Stubbs-BBQ!

Then to top it all off they are playing a full on European Tour!  With many HUGE festival shows booked!

Oh and how could I leave out MSG on NYE!

One might say that these boys are on cloud 9!

The Fillmore Detroit is pretty small, too. According to the venue's Wikipedia page, its current capacity is 2,200. The main floor supposedly has 700 seats, and the mezzanine and balcony has seating for 1,500.

Marquee for sure.  Except it is also on of my least favorite venue's.  Pheonix music fans just dont have the same heart as other towns...so maybe it's not the venue.

Le National in Montreal was tiny!  I'm not sure of the capacity but I would bet its around 1000 or so.  I was blown away when I walked in the door and the band was only like twenty feet away.  I feel lucky, somehow I doubt I will get to see then in that intimate of an environment again..

I went to the Riverside Theater show in Milwaukee in 2006 and I thought it was pretty small.  I got there with about 10 minutes left in the Wax Fang set and ended up watching MMJ from the 1st/2nd row depending on the song.  So it's not like I got there super early.  I was literally getting sweat on by JJ as he broke a guitar string from rocking so hard.  Gross, I know.

I'm not sure if the Berkeley Church in Toronto counts - the show was at the end of March - but there wasn't more than 500-600 invited guests at the show.
