I've just bought my tickets for An Evening With My Morning Jacket, at Manchester Academy 2, on the 13th November. ;D

It's fantastic to be able to see them twice in the same year in Manchester.  Any idea if there is a significance in calling it "An Evening With...", rather than just a normal gig (not that anything about a MMJ gig is normal!)?

Welcome to the Forum.  Congrats on your tickets...again.  Most certainly, "An Evening With..." means no opening band...just three to four hours of My Morning Jacket madness.

But with all due respect, today is the beginning of the US tour in Nashville, and a homecoming show tomorrow in Louisville and there is a lot of excitement going on around here for that.  So one month at a time, my friend...one month at a time!   :)

I hear ya. Thanks for the news I wanted to hear.

Hope the US shows rock!

Thanks for the heads up, currydog.  Hadn't seen this show mentioned anywhere.  Quite by chance, I'm spending a couple of days a week working in Preston (I live near Cambridge) for the forseeable future.  So, ticket booked, with my employer picking up the hotel and entertainment tab for the evening!  Nice.  ;D 8-)

The prospect of "an evening with" in the UK is mouthwatering...  hoping for some dates down south too.

EDIT:  AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHH.  Double band conundrum.  I've already got tickets to Mercury Rev in London that night.

Actually, not that difficult a choice.  Jacket here I come.

IHL / other London-based Jacketeers - fancy a couple of tix for the Rev at Shepherd's Bush Empire?
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side
