Honestly, it was just okay. I thought when they opened for PJ here it was much, much better. JJ seemed tired. No "Steam Engine" so I'm being bitchy. No Masterplan either. FUCK!

macmelo

agreed.  nothing outrageous by any stretch.  the dondante jam at the end was tight and what they need to do ALOT more of.  take out the acoustic lull in the middle of the show and stretch some of the songs with jams.  it needs to be less predictable.

we got a setlist - steam engine was on it...  but no dice...

run through owned!

The DARK

They need a break from this leg of the tour and come back re-energized with crazy new setlists!
In another time, in another place, in another face

DaFunkyPrecedent

i'm with you Dark.  Next show Berkeley!  They'll be fresh and ready to go.  I'll be front row.  Giant MMJ flag!  Rainbow suspenders! glowing face!  look for me....

It was? Motherfucker! What happened? THe crowd was weak for most of the show too. MAybe that's why we didn't get it. What else was on it? ANything else we didn't get?

ANd yes, RunThru was mindblowing. Best song of the show I think. Although DOndante was pretty sweet too. The thing is, the music all sounded amazing but those guys all looked tired and not as into it as I've seen them before.

Sassbox

That's at least the third setlist I've heard about that included Steam Engine where it ended up not being played.  Dallas was due to Erykah Badu's surprise appearance.  I can't remember the other show...
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

darthwilson

I thought the show was sick! To each his own

Really? Not sure where you were sitting but everyone around us was rocking the fuck out including my pregnant wife. I think they get better every time I see them but that is because I feel lucky just to be there. No expectations except to rock for two hours. Make of it whatever you want but the show last night was exceptional.  8-)

Strange how subjective things like this are.   I thought this show was great, perhaps even better than RCMH, only cause I had a much much better seat and people around me were rocking out, where as in NY people were chatting and socializing.

I do wish some tunes can make a comeback but I suspect that will come as the tour goes on.  The Okonokos tour was ripe with surprises, ths one is selling new material.  They are playing to lots of new people who might not know the rarities weve all come to love.

The venue very nice, much better over all experience than Constitution in DC.  The walk back to the westin was quite an adventure in the monsoon like conditions.  But I was so charged up, it was fun.  I got a plastic garbage bag for my poster and it stayed dry as a bone.

Hello all, My thoughts on the show  was a great time. I can't compare with the previous places like some of you, but I thought the sound was wonderful, crowd hopping. Tunes and vocals were fabulous. Next stop for me in NYE. Peace.
DIO will always live on

I was 2nd row, front and center, and I thought this show was pretty awesome

drunk, loud douchebags infront of me aside, show ruled. Was super bummed about no Steam Engine, but I saw it at Radio City, so whatever. It would've been a killer part of the encore too, I believe it was sposed to be after Cobra, before Run Thru

I felt almost foolish last night at this show....I'm pretty young as far as big MMJ fans go (I'm 17) and I seemed to be the only person within a 100 ft radius of me who was into it and singing all the songs and whatnot.

I know they're ringing in new fans which is cool and all, but where were all the diehards? (Exception to the dude behind me who kept screaming TYRONE!!!!! all night long)

Dondante jam was fucking amazing. I think it's slowly overtaking Steam Engine as "the big jam" of the set

I was also VERY happy to hear Mahgeetah as the opener.....as far as I know, they've been opening up with strictly Evil Urges and Anytime on this tour, so it was definitely a nice surprise
***Correction: apparently they opened with Touch Me Pt. 2 into Pt. 1 in Miami

Evelyn was great, Cobra was great. Would've loved to hear War Begun :'(but oh well, here's to NYE

We're lucky that it wasn't raining as hard during the whole show as it was at the end! I heard from someone working that the show was going to get cut early if it was raining as hard as it was earlier.

...need to see set list please...

This show kicked eternal ass!  The guys left 5 lbs of sweat and 2 tons of inspiration out on that stage last night.  I also think its time people quit whining about setlists and what they didn't get to hear.
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

...me too, they are touring for Evil Urges, they are going to be playing a lot from that record just like every other band that has every gone on tour for their new record...maybe if they didn't have a new record out and just decided to do a little tour then you can expect the rarities but they have been throwing in little jewels every now and then...

i thought the show was great---! run thru and dondante--equally good the night before in philly---not to second the bitchy comment--but i would have enjoyed steam engine, too--but glad they did evelyn again!

Hey girl--it was really nice to meet my first forum compatriot!  Hope you had a safe trip back to Jersey!

Glad that some of you enjoyed it.  I don't quite get the people complaining about not getting Steam Engine.  You got 2+ hours of music and you're complaining because you didn't hear one song?
