whilst listening to some old "month of sundays" tunage(jim james pre-MMJ) i realized that every month that begins on a sunday has a friday the 13th.. could this be the origin of the band name?

That is a really cool connection that you made.  I have also wondered about those origins.  This is what I came up with...

Idiom:
month of Sundays Informal
An indefinitely long period of time: It will take you a month of Sundays to chop all that wood.

I also recently learned that a "raconteur" is one who can tell a story well.  I love to know the origins of things...band names are especially interesting.

I always thought it was a month of days to relax and do whatever you want.  Sounds fantastic!
