God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Quoteno one tried to catch him? anything break his fall? hope hes OK

This was my first thought.

I was there and just got back from the show. They said he was 'rushed' to the hospital (which in a good case scenario was right across the street)

There were those like 5 foot high aluminum metal barriers between the stage and the closest fans, so no one really had a chance to catch him.

As soon as he was helped by the crew, he jogged backstage - so in this sense I would guess he not terribly hurt - they probably did this mostly as a precautionary measure, ie concussion and such

It happened at the end of a rockin Off The Record Jam, and apparently the Skeletor boots failed him (actually, I noticed when I finally got back to my place the soles of my shoes were cracked from jumping so much)

I have faith in the band that they would only have cancelled if Jim couldnt go on, but for a college town, there were probably about 1200-1500ppl there only, and I got there 10 min before 'showtime' and was able to get centerstage 15 ft back. Even during jams, kids were just standing there like they were watching Mozart

Im def bummed since this was my first show - and it was general admission and I was able to get so close - but hopefully JJ is okay, and okay enought for the band to play Chicago since I got friday tix

Holy shit!  Hope Jim's OK.  I once saw Tommy Lee fall 20 feet to the ground, the show got canceled of course.  All great rock bands have an on stage injury.  David Lee Roth busted his nose on a light rig.  Hetfield burned his hand.  Alice Cooper broke 6 ribs falling off stage in the 70s.  Its a very rock and roll thing to do.   ;) ;)

I was very impressed w/ the band and the fans. It was clear people were concerned...This was our 1st show and we were in the front row, did not see Jim fall, due to the lack of lighting and being so close. My wife and both hope the best for Jim. Also, Scope should consider how the stage could have been easier to see. Hope the band @ least comes thru Iowa again in the future....we'll be there.

They spook the herd.   ;)

Just got back from the bar, drinking some sorrows away briefly after my favorite musician sustained a show ending injury :(

I'm very embarrassed by the fellow "Hawkeye" that was bitching about his money. I very seriously doubt that the guys wouldn't continue if it wasn't necessary. The fact that Patrick came out himself instead of having one of the production guys do it was a major indicator of this.

Disagree and Agree with the guy who said the crowd was small and lame. It was fairly small, but this is a small town in Iowa and they were playing a huge (and oddly selected) venue. Would've been much better to play one of the smaller venues downtown. It wasn't the most energetic MMJ crowd I've been in, but being on the rail in front of Carl everybody around me seemed to be having a good time.

The boys were spot on tonight, can't believe they played At Dawn! I managed to snag a setlist just to see how disappointed I would be, and saw both Run Thru and Dondante on there.. so I have a feeling we missed out on some major jam sessions. I don't care if I get my money back. Now I'm just debating a possible Chicago trip to catch them there if those shows don't get canceled as well. Get well soon JJ!

Hahaha they spook the herd, couldn't help but laugh at that

That guy was me

Hah, well yeah, when youre on the rail im sure everyone is there bc they came early and are gonna rock out.

And mostly, when youre on the rail, YOU DONT SEE WHATS GOING ON BEHIND YOU!!

Like I said, I was about 15ft back centerstage, and more than half the ppl were just standing like they were watching Mozart. Some ppl were rocking out like I, no doubt, but I was surprised how many ppl just stood motionless (esp bc this is a college town and these ppl are about 20, not 40). And about 85% of the crowd was even behind me, so I can only guess what they looked like. I understand 8000 ppl not showing up due to geography, but a lot of ppl just didnt seem to into it

On a better note, YES, the show I thought was BOOYAKASHA up to that point. I couldnt ask for much more after the Bermuda Highway>At Dawn>Golden openers, and I think they were just getting going with that Off The Record jam. And 'for the record' since Ive seen sound quality complaints, I thought it was perfectly fine. LOUD as FUCK, esp the low ends, but great and had they been given more time Im sure the roof woulda been blown off that barn and stampedes wouldve occurred

I expected a Dondante, but the Run Thru was 50/50, and I know youll probably make me cry, but can you please post the rest of the setlist???

And also, I wish there was someone here with more than 43 posts for me to sympathize with  :'( :'( :'(

Get better soon Jim! I feel sorry (but also feel lucky) for everyone at the show as I caught a killer set last night.

Hmm...well this is conflicting with what 2-Tone's wife said earlier in that it was x-rays on a possible leg fracture

I guess we probably wont know until a final an official statement is released  :-/
