Hey, to start off I know just about nothing about the band, but after seeing this video, I nearly cried 'cause it was so sick.
The clip was from a Bonnaroo show (Sometime before 2007) that I saw on some HD network. I'm pretty sure the clip started off with just Jim James playing alone inside some big tent, then switched to the whole band playing outside in the rain and Jim was like holding his guitar up to the sky and it was just awesome.
Also, the Grateful Dead also played at that Bonnaroo, if that helps.
Thanks guys.

Swanny, I think you might be referring to a video done by the great Danny Clinch called "We Have Arrived: Bonnaroo 2004."  It is not the official Bonnaroo 2004 dvd, but it is way better. I caught it a couple of years ago on the Sundance Channel and have been searching for it ever since.  I don't believe it is for sale anywhere unfortunately.  If somebody knows where I can get a copy of this please let me know.

I am not sure what song Jim is playing solo in the tent, but the song being played in the rain is Steam Engine.  This was the set closer, and what a way to end it.  This was my first experience with the Jacket, and I have to say it is my most memorable concert moment of all time.  It was so f***ing hot that day, then out of nowhere a giant storm front blew in and totally changed the atmosphere.  This was just the beginning of the mudfest to follow over the next couple days.  I guess it was one of those "you had to be there" moments, but I have been hooked on MMJ ever since.  I just looked at my friend after their set thinking, holy s**t we just witnessed a once in a lifetime event, and we certainly did.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's it. It's absolutely incredible,  you're wicked lucky you got to go. Do you know if it's on youtube or something? Because I can't find it anywhere.

Wow.  I need to find this.  Love Danny Clinch's work.

I hope you can find it. It's one of the most beautiful live performances I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.

Oh, dude...I've seen this!  Not the MMJ part, but I remember the KoL and Femi Kuti parts.

Here's a link:

Looks like it's done by his company, Three on the Tree Productions:

The first song that bounces between jim solo in the tent and the full band was "Golden".  It then merges right into the outra jam from Steam Engine but not the whole song.

This video is actually what finally convinced one of my friends that I was not crazy and MMJ really are amazing!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.
