Michaelfeld

Hello my friends,
Last night my parents surprised me with a plane ticket to NY for the show and although i have been thinking about the show and potential set list for quite some time, now that I will be there I figured I would share my thoughts. Today I purchased a brown polyester 3 piece suit for the show so I am almost ready. I would be interested on all your thoughts-

First of all I am pretty sure there will be at least 35 songs played. The show starts at 9, new years is midnight so i think they will play till 1 or 1:30 with the set break. Bonnaroo was about an even 3 and half hours with the set break. It should be interesting to see what they decide to do especially after the long break from the road.

Guaranteed to be played:
Gideon
Evil Urges
Worldless Chorus
Touch me Pt. 2
Anytime
Off the record
I'm Amazed
Touch me part 1
Easy Morning Rebels
Librarian
What a wonderful man
Two Halves
Smokin' from shootin
Run Though
One Big Holiday
Mahgeetah
Off the record
Golden
Highly Suspicious
Dondante
Sec Walkin'
Laylow
Bermuda Highway
Steam engine
(Total 24 songs)

That leaves 11 songs to be played so lets say 6 covers and 5 other originals. This is the fun part and I have no idea what covers or other originals will be played but here is my wish list:
At Dawn
Xmas Curtain
Masterplan
The Bear
where to begin
strangulation
Cobra
tyrone
O is the one that is real
I will sing you songs
Reminants
How do you know
Knot Comes loose

Has anyone seen the Guy Burwell poster, amazing.

I'd eat my head if they played It's About Twilight Now or Chills. That would seriously destroy me.
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

Here are the songs where, if you guys get them, it will ruin Christmas:
It's About Twilight Now
Into the Woods
By My Car
Sooner
Strangulation!
Honest Man

October

really would love Strangulation as well.

also, I know it might not be the proper venue, but I'd still love to hear I Will Be There When You Die live.

others I hope for:
Steam Engine
The Bear
Heartbreakin' Man
various great covers

kydiddle

First off, you have the coolest parents in the world!!!

This is my first MMJ concert and I am very lucky that I get to go to such a special occasion, and will be happy to hear them play anything. With that said, I do have a few that would probably be the end of me if the stars align and they all make an appearance on NYE:

Strangulation!
Steam Engine
The Bear
Smokin' From Shootin'
Lay Low
Cobra
Where to Begin
Cow temperature.

How would they ruin the vibe? I gotta disagree, especially with the first 2 on the list.

I'm hoping for killer versions of Steam Engine and Phone Went West, but I'd probably be happy to just watch Jim stand prostrate for four hours.  :)
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

Kenny76

I'm hoping for Honest Man, The Bear, I Will Sing You Songs, Nashville to Kentucky, Lowdown, Masterplan, Easy Morning Rebel, Rollin' Back, Lay Low, and the bustin' out of Remnants!

I meant that it would ruin my Christmas vibe if they played them and I wasn't there.

Ahhhh, ok. After re-reading the posts I thought that may be what you meant.

Haldon

strangulation would be awesome...

i'd also like to hear just one thing, and i will be there when you die -- only because those are two songs which i've never heard live and which I really enjoy

otherwise, my mindset going in is just to stand up, listen, dance, yell, sing, cry, have my face melted, explode and just enjoy the moment

its not everyday that your favorite band plays arguably the biggest concert venue in the country on arguably the biggest party night of the year..........WOW

can't wait

Well done, Michaelfeld!  Sounds quite dapper   ;D

The Steam Engine/Phone Went West double whammy would likely leave me in a puddle of joyous tears.

[greedy]  If there's a downtempo portion of the evening, I'd like to hear Bermuda Highway, War Begun, or Just One Thing, maybe some random b-sides like Chills and How Could I Know, and ideally a Dylan cover, preferably Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You, but I'd also be cool with their cover of George Harrison's Behind That Locked Door.  [/greedy]

if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

DaFunkyPrecedent

I hope they play OBH, Wordless, Off The Record and Evil Urges!!!!!!! That would make my night!
God damn those shaky knees.

AllyDee

Knot Comes Loose would be dreamy

Picture of You/If All Else Fails would end my life

AMightyCaporal

I hope they play Bloody Well Right or some other Supertramp song.  That would be excellent
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side
