Stupid question, but I have not been at MSG for a long time.  How are they with cameras??  Easy to get in??  I know there didn't seem to be that much of a problem at Radio City.  Just curious.

I have been able to sneak a camera in there, but this is NYE and I hear they are a bit more strict on that day.

I got my small digital in for Wilco/Neil Young a week or so ago and security actually saw the camera during bag check.  The website says small cameras (no detachable lenses) are permitted for most shows.

I was wondering this too. Their website says you can only bring a disposable or 35 mm with no zoom.  Everyone has a camera on their cellphone nowadays anyway so I don't see why they'd care...especially since its a holiday.

QuoteVideo cameras, monopods, tripods, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses are not permitted inside Madison Square Garden at any time. This policy will be strictly enforced. You may bring in a disposable or 35mm camera (with no zoom or telephoto lens), however, for some events, cameras of any type and/or flash photography may be prohibited.

The thing I hate when going to venues like this is that they don't always abide by their own rules all the time and god forbid you get a security person who is having a bad day and is being a major dick. The camera I was able to being in is a 6x6 and that was right after Bonnaroo for R.E.M .

I agree about the inconsistency of enforcement...it's frustrating.  I rarely bring my Nikon b/c of the detachable lens rule in place at most venues.  My guess is they'll be cool so long as it's a relatively small camera.
