We are probably going to get all these songs from both nights on NYE. And then some. THat makes me happy.

Yes! What the fu@k was up with people yelling during the banter.  As they continued to yell louder, he just stopped dead in the middle of a thought and had a look like, ok, you don't want to hear me talk and subsequently went right into Golden.  I was embarrassed for Chicago.  I know I dawged Chicago crowds in the Saturday thread too but give me a break.  I've never seen any $hit like that.  That was fu@king weak sauce!

I was so happy to get Remnants tonight.  I had a feeling with At Dawn but as an opener; oh my.  I didn't see that coming.  Sooner, I Think I'm Going to Hell, Nashville to Kentucky and Cobra.  What a night!

I can't sleep.

kydiddle

I think I'm going to cry. They played Sooner!! If they would combine Sat & Sun set list for NYE that would be killer.

P.S. I hate it when people yell out stuff when anyone is trying to talk between songs.

One good thing about music: when it hits you feel no pain.

That is one cool setlist.  I don't remember ever seeing one remotely similar over the year.  That is one rockin' finish starting with anytime.

NtoK and Sooner!!

This was seriously an amazing show.  Right up there with Bonnaroo 2006, Louisville 2008, and Milwaukee 2008.  Some slow burners and interesting progressions.  Run Thru, Steam Engine, and Cobra were incredible, but nothing could beat my company and my seats.  2nd row pit-center.  We were on top of the stage for most of the encore.  I will post pics and vids when I get back home.  My only "complaint" was the lack of interest in the show by 1/2 the people in the first two rows.  It was mostly 40-50 year olds (I'm 41) and many of them were total stiffs.  Couldn't even crack a smile.  No bobbing and weaving.  Feet were glued to the floor and seemed to be passing time.  I don't get it.  I guess that's why there's chocolate and vanilla.  Maybe those chocolate lovers should skip dessert and leave it for real connoisseurs 8-).

Wow! I was lucky enough to see both shows in Chicago and MMJ always blows me away! What fantastic shows. I am just so damn impressed with these guys ...I really think that Carl is one of the finest guitar player's around combine that with Jim's playing and you have combustion! The rest of the band is just so tight. The other thing is that you can tell that the band really enjoys playing together and they are one of the few bands around that give you your $ worth...2 1/2 hours playing time..the only thing better is a 3-to 4 hour set at Bonnaroo. Thanks MMJ for ending 2008 for me with a BANG!

They definitely played Wordless in the encore...the sax on Nashville was unreal!!!  The At Dawn opener was sick, I had a feeling that was coming...other highlights include the Sooner (w/ omnichord!!!), Cobra, Remnants!!!, Going to Hell and Lowdown.

Crowd seemed pretty reserved on the floor for most of the night, but everyone seemed to wake up and start rocking out during the encore.

The boys really took care of us in terms of the setlists for the 2 nights as well, i.e. changing it up for us rabid fans that went both nights.

Now I just need to hear from work that I need to head to NYC tonight and I'll be spending NYE with the boys!!!!

They played Mahgeetah on Saturday

What a fantastic show...as Caseydog noted, a slow burner!  The crowd started out a little more subdued as a result, but warmed up into a frenzy by the end of the evening.  Thanks to our Badger friends in the front row for sharing some great encore moments with us!   :D

The band seemed a little more comfortable tonight, too.  They were in fine form, jamming things out a LOT more, both Saturday and Sunday night, really...they sounded phenomenal.  NYE can't come soon enough!

Best night of my life.......

I have some vids ( not too great, but diehards will appreciate it )
of alot of the tunes. Mostly 1.5-2.5 minutes. No whole songs. Except
for At Dawn.

I'll post them sometime today or tomorrow.
