He reminds me of Entwistle, obviously not in stature, but the way he anchors the live show. He's the constant; understated, rock steady and reliable. When I was lucky enough to meet the band (minus Patrick) after one of the shows I was at this past summer he seemed very reserved and low key until I mentioned that I though Bo was really on that night, that the sound was great too, and that he (Bo) was sharp and crystal clear. With that he stopped signing the the setlist I had gotten, smiled, and said "He was pretty fucking "on", wasnt he?".

Not sure why, but it was pretty freakin' cool lol.

He is really underrated. Sometimes I'll be listening to MMJ and just think Woah! I had no idea he could do that. Like most good bass players, he gives the song that little bit extra.

i've only had good seats twice in my many times seeing them, and as someone who likes watching people do what they do, those were two of the best moments. with that said, i had never been close enough to watch them play the stuff on Z in detail. So when I got okonokos and I saw just how It Beats 4 U was played I was blown away. I know it's just a simple thud on the body of the bass, but I had no idea that is where that dull heart thumping came from in that song.

Prior to that I just liked the way the song ends with his lead.

great fucking thread. the majority of the night at MSG i stayed focus on Tommy's bassline. he was dropping bombs. i kind of wish he was turned up a little louder in the mix.

Before Chicago Night #2 my cousin's friend mentioned he got a bass for Christmas. After the show (his first) he said he was going to send it back to Santa. "Why even bother trying?" he said. ;D

I knew TTT was special when he filled in on bass for Rogue Wave at the 12/29/06 Fillmore show. He pulled double duty that night.

My good friend laughs at me for being a dork because I totally gushed to him when I saw that on Okonokos. Now, sort of without thinking about it, I do the same thud on my steering wheel listening to that song and always catch this sideways "You are the biggest dork and I love you" look when we jam out on this business while driving.

But seriously though, sometimes you almost don't realize how hard Tommy rocks and then you sit and watch him and realize that he never hardly takes the spotlight (except when I saw them in Nashville in 2005 and he had his hair all over the place and rocked the front of the stage on the breakdown in Run Thru. Fucking. Awesome.) but when you catch, you realize how huge a force he is in this band. Undeniable. The man is small in stature but huge in tone. Unde-fuckin-niable.

I was down below Jim at MSG with a bunch of you from this forum. At one point, Tommy sent a big smile our way ( which I thought was for me because I was smiling at him ) then I had a drink after the show with the guys from Brown and Evan brought up the smile TT had sent his way. Made me laugh, we were all in that moment with him. The connection with these guys when they are performing is so amazing!!!
