Have an awesome time DB!!!!!!
And don't forget to pick up your melted face off the floor afterward.  :D
How loud can silence get?

Thanks again guys!

I played the OBH clip from Tokyo for my wife when she got home & we both sat there with tears in our eyes. We're watching Okonokos right now, I can't even begin to describe this feeling!

Pre-show thoughts:

I missed the Jacket the first 2 times they were here in Japan. The first time was way back in '03 (Summer Sonic) before I was officially addicted to the internet & had no idea they were even here.
The 2nd time was 2 years later (Fuji Rock) & I couldn't make it up to Tokyo.

After missing those 2 shows I told myself that I would do whatever it took to see them when & if they ever came to Japan again.
I run an English school by myself & haven't canceled a single class for any reason since I started it 4 & a half years ago. Shit, the amount of amazing gigs I've had to miss over the years but I'm very proud of my business & don't want to risk upsetting/losing any of my customers every time I cancel a class to see a band...but I broke my own rule for the Jacket & have a ticket to see them tomorrow night!

I've been a HUGE fan since At Dawn but this will only be my 2nd show. I was lucky enough to catch an amazing show a couple of years ago @ my fav London venue (Astoria RIP) when i was home for my sister's wedding a couple of years ago. I got to meet Bo & Carl (amazing guys!) the infamous CC Baxter & my good man Mark (on the way to the toilet!) The setlist was amazing (Phone Went West, Steam Engine etc) but what with my sister's wedding the next day & then flying home the day after that I don't remember as much about it as I'd like to - the whole trip was a bit of a whirlwind and is a bit of a blur when I think back.

I couldn't sleep last night...I really feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! It's an amazing feeling & (Haha My wife is air-drumming to Off The Record!) goodness knows what I'll be like tomorrow...

Thanks for keeping this thread alive over the last few weeks! I can still remember lurking around here regularly sometime after It Still Moves was released, finally plucking up the courage to post sometime before Z came out. Cheers friends, I love you all & I f**king LOVE the Jacket!!!

I'll be back with a full report soon...

:)

Damn, DB, that's a helluva story!  Have a great time at the show.  You deserve it just for all the sacrifice you've made for those students.  They've gotta have the most rocking teacher of their lives!

Quotename the band and song

Big shiny jet plane in the sky
Please drop us off as we go by
We're an American band
And everything is rockin' out of control
When we hit Japan
Faxes from the veiwers on TV
Karioke hokey-pokey on the screen
Dig my toes into the Pacific sand
And everything is rockin' out of control
When we hit Japan (x3)
Yeah, 20 tonnes of Sushi-lovin' fun
(Yum yum)
The kiddy line will thank you one by one
(Arigato)
Please come out to see us when we land
And everything is rockin' out of control
When we hit Japan (x25)
Yeah, hi ya!
Wo-wo-ho-wo-wo-ho-ho-ho
No idea whatsoever but I love it!

Sorry for the late response, but this was Japan by The Presidents of the United States of America.
