setlist:
wonderful (the way i feel)
right place - definitely a crowd pleaser
it beats for you
look at you
gideon - yim seemed to forget that he was on a small stage in front of 80 people at the end and not rocking an arena
the way that he sings
losin' yo' head
magic marker
bermuda highway
smokin' from shootin'
your master's voice

drove down from indianapolis for the show. they kept it under wraps as it never actually sold out. the long wait was well worth it. jim was dressed to the nines. he didn't hang out, just basically showed up for his set, blew us all away (especially the owner/operator of the rud who screamed at the end, "there goes jim james. gonna go jump on a plane to go save some more souls"), then went on his way. no tricks, no omnichord. just him and a guitar (that he thumped on a couple times for rhythm). just an absolute stunner of a set

What a great show! Showing up early paid off as we were in the front row. Another magical night in Louisville thanks to Jim James.

The show itself was indescribable. It's always a treat to be that close to Jim when he's doing his thing but a solo show at the Rud is just that much more special. If this was a warm up show, watch out for MoF, his voice was amazing last night

Toby and I wore our sleeping masks but didn't find a great time to really rock them out. I wish that webcast could've been recorded! I don't know what was going on in there but the dude who was recording it came running into the main hall and interrupted the auctioneer to say "who's toby? where is he?" Goose and I pointed to LoveDog and he says "the internet wants you to talk to your girlfriend".  Hilarious!  I have a feeling he's going to be hearing about that for a while.  ;D

Goose, Candace, and I won a winter CSA with local eggs, pork, cheese, honey, and other seasonal goodies in the auction, that was fun. My wife's car got towed, that kinda sucked. But it was certainly well worth it.

I told Toby being right up front for a show like this almost gives you a guilty feel like you're stealing something. Unfortunately I couldn't steal the setlist this time, Jim claimed that. The whole night was a celebration of the things that make Louisville special and it felt good to be a part of that.

Thanks, Jim!  :)

Sounds like it was an excellent show. I was watching the broadcast wishing I was there.

Bermuda Hwy and Losin' Yo' Head were awesome!
How loud can silence get?

Penny Lane

that was a magical show, even though i only had picture for some of it, the audio and the listening party were well worth it, some major bonding going on last night ..... as far as i know, present were myself, Ghost and Ghostess, sticky icky, BH, MJK, bluesky, the dark, wizzard, MightyCaporal, (maybe MMJ fanatic but wasn't sure), tater, KY--it was so weird, but we could see candace, aMD, goose, LD, Kory up front for some or most of the time (so it's like THEY were part of our listening party, too, even though they were part of the REAL listening party)

the moderator (Madbastard) was really awesome, too. whenever the sound went out or the screen froze, he'd rush to fix it.

**my high points of the night: bermuda highway, his master's voice, and seeing LD get interviewed by the madbastard.  ;)
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Toby, where is Toby... the internet wants to speak to you!

I'll admit lyrics don't sink in a while for me, I'm caught up in melody, etc before the words actually mean something to me; that is until I see Jim sing his Master's Voice right in front row... that's one beautiful song with a beautiful story!
It was a blast hanging out with everyone!!

wow just wow.  that was one of the most beautiful hours ive ever had.  bermuda mother fucking highway into smokin for shootin.  if i had one request for last night it wouldve been bermuda hwy, just unreal.  his voice was ethereal last night.  especially on the closer of his master voice, which ive only listened to once.  great song selection, great vibe, great crowd, great venue, great night.

dylan it was good to see you last night.  im assuming you can figure out who this is.
out go the lights it begins

What a fun night.   Unforgettable online experience.  Still would have loved to be in that front row!   But a nice consolation prize nonetheless.

Madbastard said they were going to archive the video stream at Motherlodge "On Demand" but I can't find that anywhere.  If we find that I can capture it now.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Kory

just so folks know, I was prepared to tape last night with a stand or just clipping mics on my bag on the floor (how it went down the last Rud show) but BPorter showed up and set up center of the floor and I sat front row with my mics on my camera bag. My recording turned out nice so I'm sure Brian's will be magic!

No way, I thought I was bugging you!  I kept trying to find a program to capture live streaming and failed in the time I had left.  Hopefully they will get it archived and we can get it from there.  There were lots of issues though.   Were you able to tape?

Ok, I don't feel so bad that I crapped out during what turned out to be the last song. Whew. Thought I was going to miss a 3 hour set.

Kory/Dylan/LD- Y'all have hearing left? Jeeze o pete Jim was belting it out last night or what. That voice is a stonger force of nature then a giant wall of Marshall full stacks cranked to 11 and a really angry guitar player is behind the axe.

Sweet.   Get some good pics of Jim in that dapper suit he was sportin'?

So glad to hear you all had a great time!
Because we're all in this together...

seriously- ya'll are really lucky to have seen Jimmy so live and so close- and to be a part of the whole experience in general.  I'm extremely jealous-  But the internet extravaganza was filled with great people, great laughs, I got to know a lot of people a little bit better- Maybe next time we'll all be there too- right up front, floating with Mr. Jim James.
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

DAMN my home computer. I should have stayed at work. I logged on at home and that was about the end of that.  My connection was no bueno.  Oh well, hopefully it'll be up soon.  At least I got a sneak peak in the afternoon.
