I hate jason mraz with a passion.  that e-surance commercial reminds me too much of him and now every time that dudes name is brought up I cringe.

I don't really know how that works, cause I don't think the mraz version ever got offically released. The bright eyes version came out in 01, pretty sure the mraz version started floating around in 03. I remember hearing about it, but I've never heard it. He could have just played it live and people could have assumed it was called love is real, who knows. You would think he would have said the name and that it was a bright eyes song if that was the case though. If he was the one who called it love is real, that's a pretty douchey move, imo.

Will the drummer man.  he sings on bh as well I think.  he really adds a nice touch with those vocals.  sweet they can do 4 parts harmonies if they want with 4 completely unique voices.

Thank you both :)  It was my guess but I have not listened to any Centro matic/SSG stuff so I wasn't sure.

He has an album out now with Jason Molina of Magnolia Electric Co., called...Molina and Johnson  ;D When I talked to him at the bar before the show last night, he told me they are playing Johhny Brenda's in Philly in December. I'm probably gonna check it out. I can't stress enough how nice he was. Talked to him for a good 10 minutes.  Super nice.

Also, I just listened to Jason Mraz's "Love is Real" on youtube. It's Kathy with a K's song. Bright Eyes cover. The original is on a split ep with a band called Son, Ambulace called " Oh, holy Fools" and also on a vinyl ep called "Don't be frightened of turning the page", which is just the Bright Eyes songs from Oh, holy fools, If anyone is interested.

Yeah, I would imagine it still is. The arrangement on the studio version is different than they way they played it on the Mof tour, it's just vocals and guitar up until the end. THe whole ep is pretty good.
