Not fully released yet. In the midst of being released (all damn day long). Just give me MMJ already.

jmk

Someone get in touch with the band and ask them why the hell the Jacket aren't playing Roo!

razral

I really can't believe MMJ is not going to the Roo this year! I'm so heartbroken, I don't understand. I might even skip out for the first time in four years! Anyways, guess I'll get over it. :'(

ALady

I would bet dollars to donuts that they're added after the Nashville show.

Don't quote me, though   ;D

For some reason I still have hope too. Is their a reason why you think they might announce after the Nashville show? Just lookin for anything to hold onto.

even though i hoped, i never saw them playing Bonnaroo...they'd have to top themselves and with no new album and after the 08 show and NYE, they're not just the type of band to phone it in. they're probably playing these other shows to just get back in the thick and to get people thinking about them, and while i still think they may add a couple other smaller festivals, i would be shocked from a band management perspective why it would make sense for them to play Bon ...plus YY's album coming out soon...i see a headlining 2011.

I agree...there's no point in them playing Roo if they are not headlining.

Well, if they announce a show in the same market (Roo) fewer people will buy tickets to the Nashville arena gig.  Since most people (unlike us crazies  ;D) wouldn't buy tickets to both, it wouldn't make sense for them to announce both shows at the same time.

Frankly, Roo needs MMJ this year.

Yeah, I guess if its all about business and what management wants them to do. Headliners at Bonnaroo never get to play four and a half hour sets  till 4 in the morning though! Guess " All Things Must Pass".

Angry Ewok

I woulda gone if MMJ was there.

YY - is it?!

that's my thoughts for bonnaroo as well. maybe they'll be a late addition, but I think they play next year after they have a new album out. Not the headliner of headliners, but up there. Id probably prefer a long ass late night set though anyway

First off, I don't see MMJ playing Bonnaroo this year.  BUT, if the Roo was going to save a few nuggets to announce later on, I think waiting with a band like MMJ who has a huge following in the area might be smart to do in this economy.  I doubt ticket sales will be as strong as in years past, and it doesn't hurt to announce a band like MMJ to boost sales in APril or May.  I'm not going to Bonnaroo, but I would if MMJ were playing - its that simple.  While MMJ's fanbase is not massive, it is strong, strong enough to boost up a few extra ticket sales for sure.  ANd even if sales aren't lagging, announcing MMJ later on keeps people's interest in the fest.

I never want MMJ to headline. I want them to have the ability to do a 4 hour set late night when my brain can melt in the twilight

I gotta say, I'm impressed at how MMJ fans have responded to what seems to be the band's decision to forgo Bonnaroo this year.  I checked this thread expecting to see outbursts of anger and resentment, but MMJ fans are a different bunch, a classy and respectful one at that.

That's pretty much how I feel about it.  Why not a 4-hour late night on What?

In the new Rolling Stone with Clapton and Beck on the front there is a mini-section called tour briefs with a snapshot of this year's Bonnaroo. The last part says that another 30 to 40 bands will be announced in the coming weeks...something inside of me still says they are gonna be there...

I am not all that impressed with the Bonnaroo lineup this year. Have gone 2 years in a row and will not be going this year... unless MMJ plays then I will pretty much feel I have to. LOL.  I hope they anounce earlier than after the Nashville show so i can make my plans.
