Quoteit's like fleeing from a country full of ponies to live in a non-pony country......it just doesn't make sense. :-?

so awesome...

JERRY: I didn't know she had a pony. How was I to know she had a pony? Who figures an immigrant's going to have a pony? Do you know what the odds are onthat? I mean, in all the pictures I saw of immigrants on boats coming into New York harbor, I never saw one of them sitting on a pony. Why would anybody come here if they had a pony? Who leaves a country packed with ponies to come to a non-pony country? It doesn't make sense.. am I wrong?

As soon as I read that sentence I thought of that Seinfeld episode  ;D

QuoteI'm not sure I've ever heard Jim send out negative banter.
Go to the tapings sections > Click on Kory's "You want Jacket videos?" thread > Scroll down to the awesome "George Savage Video Collection" > Download the 2003-04-23 show from Nashville > Fast forward to about the 1:20:00 mark > Behold Jim breaking off in the middle of "I will be there when you die" to chastise some "fuckin drunk motherfucker" for "killing the mood". After that, he finishes the song and then delivers a Tweedy-ish rant about folks who are too noisy during shows. In a way, it isn't really all that negative though; he tries to make it more about praising the people who actually do listen, and he's obviously uncomfortable with ranting. He does seem pissed though. Notice also: As he finishes his rant and calls "the boys" back on stage, the camera pans up into the ceiling, and you hear Patrick (I think) chiming in with a "Fuck that guy".

By the way, there are other (better) reasons for downloading this show: The sound is pretty good, there's a nice "Steam Engine" just before the encore, plus, it's always great to see footage of the band at its hairiest.

I think G-Paboy had the "negative aspects surrounding the Jacket" market cornered!!  ;)

I loved this tweet:

mspark -   people who throw glow sticks at shows make me stabby. i want to throw them in their face and see how they like it.

If someone sees this guy at a show please punch him in the nose.  He's never said anything about not liking being punched in the nose, so he must enjoy it.

Or better yet, let's go to where this guy works and start pelting him with shit.  I bet he'd LOVE that!  ::)

Uh oh, LDsquared, look what you started.  Let me first of all vouch for this fine young man, who was an excellent partner in my Birmingham experience, among many others.  While I don't particularly agree with his take on glow sticks (I fucking hate them), I wish him no ill.  However, a mild beating is justifiable.

Haha, Ouch! You got me all wrong though, Capt'n. I'm actually a fountain of mindless positivity and blind optimism. Maybe I should start using smiley's or something.

that was my first Jacket show.

Jim (it was Jim back then) also complained b/c the crowd wasn't bouncing plastic rods of glowing lava off his face.  :)
Jim brings all his love, passion, energy and mystery to the stage and says, "I'm right here."
