..... One of my favorite artists of all tim is Gary Numan. I mean I am a HUGE Gary Numan fan. I prbably have a couple hundred gigs of hismusic on my hard drives .....

Anyway, Gay is touring the States for te first tie in forever and performihis classic album, THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE in it' entirety. (It's the album "Cars" is on).

The date he's playing in NYC?

Saturday October 23rd.

The same night as EVIL URGES.

I want to die.

ALady

Honestly?

If there was one of these you had to miss, Evil Urges would be it.

I don't see them retiring any of those songs anytime soon.

How many more chances will you get to see Gary Numan?

I say go for it.
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

BH

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

ALady

Right, but there should be plenty of opportunities to see those in the future too.

Though you only get to hear it for the first time once...   :)

I'd say hit the EU - last night of a 5 night run should be epic.    And - I hate to say it - what if this is the end?
Of course, this is the advice you'd expect from a MMJ board.   That said, I'm a HUGE Gary Numan fan (I turned 10 in right at the height of Numan mania (lived in England in late 70s).   More of a Replicas guy myself ;)

One other thought -

So many fans are emptying our bank accounts to make the pilgrimage.

Consider yourself lucky you are from NJ.   Take all that money you are saving and go see Numan later on the tour.   There's tour dates the entire following week.

That sounds like sound advice.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

.... The only East Coast dates for Numan are earlier in the week ... All nights of MMJ shows ....

.... My only option may be OPERATION: Two Shows-Two Venues-One City - One Night

Terminal 5 and the Nokia aren't that far apart. Gary Numan has an opening act, which means he may not be on until 10ish.

If MMJ is starting each night with the full album and then whatever else they play, it's feasible to see MMJ then bolt for the Nokia.

Great title for the thread, but then I was let down.  Who the F is Gay Neuman?

No way this is the end.

Sounds like Band of Horses and MMJ playing in Florida on the same night back in April.  BOH ended up changing their show, but I could not believe two of my favorite bands would play in Florida (no one comes to Florida anymore!) on the same night.

BH

Well we know it's not THE end, the end, 'cause they are playing in New Orleans a few nights later!

How about Philly on Wed night?

If you can hold out a few more weeks I can try to help. I'm planning to see Built to Spill at Irving Plaza and then shooting over to Terminal 5 to see the Black Keys. I will keep you posted on anything that comes up when we take this mission on!!

The Numan show AND EU would probably be even easier to do for ya seeing as the venues are much closer. I believe the Nokia has a midnight curfew on the weekends if that factors into your decision at all.
