1. this thread is an abomination.
2. the band seems to know what they're doing so relax.
3. if you literally cannot bear to hear a more popular song after an entire album, go home?

I'm not going to be able to make the T5 shows but I understand the temptation to speculate.  I'm sure I've done it in the past.  However, lately I've been approaching shows (like Yim in Newport tomorrow) without wondering "what songs will be played?" or "I hope they play ___."

You know they'll be playing a particular album on the given night.  You know they'll add B-sides, covers, unreleased, and new material.  You know they'll play some "crowd favorites."  Now, I'd suggest you wait and see what happens.  I'm sure you won't be disappointed and you'll save yourself a lot of stress.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Stop the fucking whining!!  It's MMJ in NYC for 5 nights.  So what if you hear some songs more than 1 night!!  A lot of people on this board would love to trade places with you!!  Be glad you will be there!!!

Tracy, thanks for that.  He never fails to make me laugh.

To the noob:  I totally understand what you're saying.  It will be interesting to see what approach they take.  I REALLY, REALLY hope they record these shows and put out a DVD, considering I won't be able to make it.
We could.

QuoteWelcome jkk.  I commend you for having faced the music and then rearticulated.  In one way or another I think most people get ya.  However there is something to be said about receiving something wonderful than having to nitpick.  Wilco played Shot in the Arm and Impossible Germany multiple times during their residency and while I'm sure some bitched, I think it went over very well.

Ding ding ding.  And that residency was a blast, repeats and all.

I totally understand where the OP is coming from, but they'd be awfully short sets if they just played the albums straight through.  You have to figure most folks won't be there for all five nights, and are going to want a full Jacket show even if they can only make it to one night.  Personally I'm glad they're going to flesh out each evening a bit more with the b-sides, covers and hits set.

It's a celebration of all things Jacket, y'all.   :)

Tracy 3K, just watched that Louie CK clip.

;D ;D ;D

I love that guy.  He's so "on point".  Check out his show on FX.

I was in high school when we got cable.  It had fewer than 30 channels.

My first car with AC and power windows came when I was 32.

To program our first VCR, you had to manipulate a dozen little switches.

Now, even I bitch when my interweb is slow or my cell drops a call.

Too funny...

Was that you taping, ALady?  I haven't really watched many clips from that show.  Looks like a blast tho!
We could.

Nuh uh, I was dancin' too hard to be taping anything!   ;D  It was a really good time.

I'm actually happy that they'll be doing some crowd favorites each night, but not for my own sake.  I really enjoy bringing friends to their first MMJ show, and with my 5 day pass, I plan on doing just that.  I'd like them to see the full onslaught.
