Why is shipping so high over in the Merch section? I know it's ran by musictoday but other musictoday sites aren't even close to as expensive.

I want to order things but every time I go to it, I can't get past the cost of shipping and I back out.

maybe it's petty but I can't shop there...

edit:
this is not what i was buying but one of the 2 dollar stickers costs 4.71 to ship in 7-10 days... that shit should be at my house in an hour for that price.

I've worked for UPS for about 4 years now. The 'non-post office price', assuming,  sounds about right including packaging materials.

But for our basic ground service at that price we guarantee 3-5 days. And depending on where you are and where they are, much of our stuff gets there in 1-3 days.

I'd be pissed at that price if they were using the post office. In that case it shouldn't be more than 2 dollars and be there in a week.

shit... a sticker shoud go in an envelope and ship for 42 cents or whatever...

I was going to buy extras of the two vinyl they still have, Acoustic CitsuocA and Z. To buy one record was 6.~ which I was cool with, adding AC bumped it up to nearly 11 bucks. That's robbery since I know 7-10 days is practically media mail and isn't over 4 dollars to ship 3 peices of wax... it's the principal of things. I ordered 3 copies of Trey Anastasio's new album on vinyl (only 1000 pressed) and it was 6 dollar and changes to ship; from a music today store no less!?!

I am a partner in a retail store and we have a flat rate for shipping.  It covers the cost of shipping, plus the energy it takes to pay an employee to take the time to prepare the package etc.  Just how it is...you have to cover the costs.
That being said, check out www.badmanrecordingco.com.  $4 shipping...and they are super duper good people.  I live in the same town, and they could charge me shipping if they wanted to, but the owner walks the LP's down to my store (in person).
