QuoteI wouldve rathered they did this at MMJ's first "Jacket Only" 3 day summer festival so everyone could enjoy this instead of 3000 people
Wilco is doing that in N. Adams, MA.  Looks like a great fest.

This is fucken incredible! Does anyone know what the 5-night package available for fans means?

Murph

I still cant wrap my brain around the sheer awesomeness of this.  These guys never cease to amaze me....thank god i live in NY

nothing to complain about here.

I think I will hit at least one show...ISM for sure...I can't stay away from Steamengine. But I will happily go to any of the nights...it's all about what you can get.

I also agree with BH; it's likely they will be playing these more.
But I'm wondering when the Terminal 5 Box Set of DVD's will come out... :D maybe Xmas!

I still feel a little weak in the knees...holy shit...

THANK YOU MMJ!!!! :-* :-* :P :P :P :P :-[ :'( :D ;D ;)

Yessss bring a Jacketfest out to North Adams, MA too!!!  :D  Or anywhere out in the beautiful Berkshires.  Of course we do have a mini Jacketfest coming up.  I can't wait to check out this newly renovated venue in Holyoke, MA.

IF I can make it to one of these NYC shows (sadly, probably not) I would have to go with the Tennessee Fire show! A small intimate setting for those songs, played in the same order I've listened to them privately over the years???? .... What an emotional and unforgettable experience that would be.

Hmm....this gives me a weird feeling.....like maybe they're gonna announce the band breaking up after these 'career summarizing' shows.

Hope not.

what sort of band does something so committed and deeply involved before disbanding? not sure i understand the logic there.

to me, it seems like an epic opportunity to hear some of the albums i love most. in order.

No, no, no.  This is just a major kickdown!  MMJ is not just any band  ;) *as I am sure you know

This is epic.  I'm seriously considering a week's holiday in NYC this October.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Whilst I haven't had the time -or the bother- to read over the last 9 pages, I heard about this today in so many different forms; I did however read that this venue is a little under par; anyway. So I live in Australia, and have been wanting to go to the states for a while; would it be crazy to spend my little savings and fly over for this amazing event (or concept)?

And who would give me their couch for a week? ha!

(Yeah it is sounding kinda crazy).

This is probably the most incredible concert series ever!!!

I have a problem with it though. Why not do the same string of shows on the west coast as well. I'm sure Portland has a venue equally as good as the one in NYC. It's shitty that the east coast gets a string of shows with the PHJB and now this and the west gets a few festival dates and that's it.

For all you lucky people who get to go...you're fuckin lucky is all I can say.
The fact that my heart's beating,
Is all the proof you need

If you can swing it, it'd be CRAZY not to!!

MMJ in New York City, all 5 albums in order, a trip you've been wanting to do for a while. It will be epic, and a memory you'll cherish for the rest of your life!!  8-)

Don't worry about the venue. It's going to be great seeing them in a smaller club. If the sound isn't that great where you are, then just move to another area. It'll most likely be all ga, and we'll be free to roam all three levels.

You still have time to think it over before the presale, but I say go for it, if you can.

Fingers crossed that the ticket gods will be smiling on us at the presale.

So, do you think we can expect a lot of Sandworm and whatnot? I'm looking at you, Top Gun and Ms. Badu!

What's up guys and gals?

Long time lurker of these forums....been coming here for a few years to get info and stuff.....but now I felt compelled to join. The 5 night residency is awesome news. Just what I needed.

I'm looking to try and do the last three nights. It's just better for me financially and also schedule-wise.

What do you guys think will happen each night? Will they play ONLY the album they are supposed to or do you think we will possibly get a cover or two? Maybe an encore or something?

If they only play the albums....i'd imagine they'd have to stretch some songs out (not a hard task for MMJ) so that the concert lasts longer than 80 minutes.

can't wait. hope i don't get shut out when buying tix for the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows. I'd probably be down for sharing an apartment/hotel room as well. I live on Long Island but don't really want to pay $20 a night for train service.

Where's the dissent? Am I the only person here not from the NE? The idea is un-fucking-believable, but it makes me highly su-motherfuckin'-spicious. Was greater thought not placed towards a more "neutral" site? Besides selling everything I own, which I saw given as advice on an earlier page, me and many other hardcore west and southern fans are sort of left out.

If not somewhere more central in the U.S., then is there some reason this couldn't be done multiple times?

I mean this is the most epic of everything epic I've ever imagined(short of them joining the stage with Geddy, Neil, and Alex). I realize I'm just being a sore loser, but why are they doing this to me?   :'(

I'm in Cali, and certaiy not bitter. It's NYC for chrisake! Get yourself a plane ticket and be there.
