Sweet, more Canadians! The friendliest people on earth..
Check the other threads for meetups, but the general meetup pre-show spot is a bar called McGees on 55th between 7th and 8th Ave. Gonna start congregating around 4:30 each day.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Hello hello!!!

I am also coming down from Canada (Ottawa, Ontario) for this craziness. I will only be able to make it for Evil Urges tho : (  I had to work the other days. I'm happy to see that I am not the only one coming down.

See you all there.

Does anybody have any suggestions of places to visit while in New York? Besides the obvious (Central Park, Statue Of Liberty, Empire State, 30 Rock etc)

Any suggestions help.

Thanks

Zen Palate is a NY vegan staple, been around a while and is considered a landmark.   There are two locations but the original is very close to T5 - within walking distance.    There are two entrances to the restaurant- one leads you into a fancier area and one more casual - I think with different menus too.    Definitely worth hitting once.  http://www.zenpalate.com/

There's also Zenith, which is right around the corner (and therefore also very close to T5).   Basically, a zen palate knockoff, right down to the name that places it next to the original in the phone book... but a little cheaper.

My favorite vegetarian restaurant is Candle Cafe  http://www.candlecafe.com/  It's not close to the venue but worth the trip - espec around lunch if you have the day with nothing to do (I will likely be there for lunch a few times)   I think the food there is great.    They also have a fancier upscale restaurant called Candle 79 but that's better if dinner is the focal point of your evening's time and budget.   You have a show to catch!

I have friends who recommend Blossom http://www.blossomnyc.com/site/; I've never been though.

Lastly, I am also a big fan of Gobo http://www.goborestaurant.com/  they have 2 locations; neither super convenient, but if you are out and about during the day, well worth hitting.

The best news is that there are cool little places all over the place; so, you really can't go wrong if you just set out and explore.

Hope that helps and hope we meet in NYC.
