For serious.

I couldn't be more excited about this.

The event has been posted on Ticketmaster...

Looks like ticket prices aren't as bad as I thought, ranging from $55 to $150.

I'm still on the fence, but all it is going to take is a very faint breeze to push me over and get me on board. Could I possibly spend a week in New York City and see a concert (and Jim James) every night I'm there? Too much?

Too bad that this wasn't on the Sunday night before the T5 shows begin....we have plans for Wednesday to see Carl at Joe's Pub....he seems like a good dude and hopefully we will have a good sized group their to support his gig......I'm also locked in because we spoke at
the Philly show and told him that we would be there......my wife kept yelling "snowy bramble"when she first saw him........it's going to be an epic week!

KingRhinoNJ

... Yeah ... I realized when I saw the date that alot of people had grabbed tickets to see Carl at Joe's Pub ....

.... We will represent you in spirit

ALady

I'm a bit torn about this as I was really looking forward to the Joe's Pub outing...am going to have to try to find a way to do both.

So who else is seriously considering?  Do you want to try to get seats together?  I guess I'd be going by myself.

as much as I'd like to see this, I think I'll stick with the OG plan and go to Joe's.  How much time do y'all think JJ will actually get at this event?  I know there are other great names on the bill, but I also need to keep my finances in mind.  Plus, never seen Carl solo, really looking forward to that.

ALady

I'll be seeing Carl earlier in the month, but the chance to hang with board peeps is a pretty strong draw.   :)

it starts at 8 and Carl's show starts at 9:30 (so i bet he goes on at 10)
might be kinda tight but good luck!

for sh*ts and giggles, i looked at the map just to see, your best bet is to bolt from the Beacon, 5 min walk to the 2/3 train to Times Square, transfer to the 4/6 train, take to Astor Place (5 min walk from there) i bet you could make it in about 25 min. a cab would take longer i think...

it's too much for me, i'm gonna stick w/McSorley's and Joe's Pub but we will save your dinner seats for you. this is exciting! ha ha

I am REALLY torn about this.

YY is likely to get little airtime.   But, I like many of the other artists too.   Tickets are expensive.

It'd be fun to see Carl in a mellow setting which is definitely more my scene.  Already own the ticket.    I Like but don't LOVE the album.

Which would I more regret missing?   I doubt Carl's show will be EPIC... it could be that the Revue is something people talk about for a while.

As Alady said, biggest draw for me is seeing the forum peeps I know again, and meeting a bunch more of you whose posts I spend my days reading....

Well then...   :)

I wonder if Carl's show will have an opener?  I'd imagine so.

But then I also think that Revue could go on for hours.

Hrm hrm hrm.  Decisions...

If I'm honest, the Revue would sort of make up for missing the Ramble.   :'(

I don't think Carl's show has an opener. There is a show before Carl's and a lot of times they add a later show. I figure they'll open the doors for us at 9:30 and he'll come on at 10 and play till about 11:30 ish?

That would be an awfully early night for NYC.

Uh, my boss just told me he got tix for him and his wife for this.
He said the cheapest was $55 but of course he's rich, so he got 4th row back.

Fourth row for an event like this would be pretty ultimate. As much as I want to see this show, it just isn't looking feasible financially. Five shows plus a Ramble will have to suffice. And hey, when money's tight, I'll never turn down a night to enjoy Manhattan without musical distractions!

was that some sort of presale?

so did anyone pull the trigger?

I tried but didn't follow through - didn't get a great seat, high cost, and my desire to meet all the forum peeps.... just let the ticket go back.

If I change my mind I'll try and pick up a floater close to the date but looks like I'll be at Carl's show....hmmm such indecision.....

I also pulled the 'chute on this one. Too much cash, and I couldn't get a seat closer than the rather ominous-sounding "Row X". However, for all those attending, I'm sure it will be a once-in-a-lifetime evening.
