:(  Does anyone else out there have the winter blahs this year?  I'm feelin' blue and need some cheering up...
Runnin' from somethin' that isn't there

DaveStarck

I feel ya John.  I usually get the winter blahs every year about this time.  It's cold outside so I'm either trapped indoors all day or outside freezin'.  I've come to believe that the best solution to the problem is to just picture Dave Thomas making a spicy chicken sandwich, kind of sends a warm, peaceful feeling through ya from the inside out.
Everything it seems I like's a little bit stronger

Well the best cure for the winterblues is, do something you haven't done before. Escape from your daily habbits and doings.  And plan some things you really like to do, so you have something to look out for in the future, but the most important thing is, and who can say this any better then Monthy python,

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...

Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]

Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]

Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]

Maybe that should do the trick john.  I hope you feel better now.  A good laugh now and then can make the difference.

Hey guys, thanks for the props.  Looking forward to many things (spring being one of them!), a trip to Montreal this March for work (whoo hoo!), etc.

Mainly though, looking forward to shows...of course!!

Try Galaxie 500's- On Fire

not really "pick you up" music, but I like it bacause it's such a compliment to the inescapable winter. (However, I like winter...)  ;D

Oz

Yes! Yes! "On fire"! That's the exact record I use when it's cold outside and I want to feel warm again. God, that is the best anti-winterdepression-music ever. Personally, the one thing that helps just a little better is hiding in bed with my girlfriend, but for all of you that don't have my girlfriend ( ;)), try "On fire".

BTW: John, to answer your question: Yes, so do I, but luckily I have the cures I mentioned above.  :)
I'm ready when you are
