It had been a long time since I checked John's FTP-server, 'cuz I finally wanted to see the Conan performance (wich, at the moment of writing, I still haven't, but I will any moment) and there I discoverd Julie Doiron. That's some pretty cool music! Who put it there and can you give me some more info on her?

Julie Doiron is a canadian singer/songwriter, sings a sort of folk/indierock kind of thing (ala Liz Phair, Cat Power, Kristin Hersh maybe..)
Played in a canadian band called Eric's Trip, started solo when they broke up.
Released Broken girl in 96 and her last cd with Okkervil River (split) last year.
It's a sort of sadcore, bittersweet melancholy kind of music.
And as the great melancholic kind of guy I am I like her a lot (and she's cute as well  :)
