After being blown away by catching the fantastically exciting, mighty Jawbone, (www.dangblues.com) the one man band, bluesman extraordinaire from Detroit play the Buffalo bar here in Londontown on Tuesday night, then again his quite fantastic sesh at Maida Vale on Peely's show last night ... just can't wait to hear the roots of music like this, all the legendary bluesmen, all their stories too - tonight on BBC 4, the start of Martin Scorsese's series of 7 films on the blues:-

'Seven illuminating films about a musical genre that has influenced everything from rock 'n' roll to hip hop. Each programme is a very personal exploration of the blues by directors including Wim Wenders, Mike Figgis, Clint Eastwood, Marc Levin, Richard Pearce, Charles Burnett and Martin Scorsese. Think of it as a musical adventure...

I've seen that documentary and its really good.  I've been listening to Nick Drake for the past 30 years.  Is there a reason for this sudden upsurge of (well desrved) interest?  Anniversary of his death? Very talented man, lovely voice...haunting in fact.
