OMFG

Had a dose of "orange sunshine" (liquid A in Tang) beforehand.  First concert, first A experience.  Amazing.

I guess a Slaughter cover band could have been playing, and I still would have thought it was amazing.  But hey, I was young.

I think this thread is a sly way to find out just how old are some of us old farts hanging around this forum.  At the risk of demonstrating that I am in fact the oldest relic jumping into the fray on a regular basis here . . .

Location: Freedom Hall, Louisville Kentucky
Opening act: All the way from LA, it's Artful Dodger
Second act: Ramblin' Gambling Man, Bob Seger
Headliner: Just as the Rock 'n' Roll Army hit its peak, KISS.

Date: September 8, 1976
You can find the tour info here:
http://www.kissonline.com/news/tour/archive/all_shows/1976.html

I actually caught the last four songs or so of a Three Dog Night outdoor concert (at Louisville Downs Harness Race Track) earlier, I believe.  Went with a friend to pick up his sister and they let us in for free.  That was an infamous show, as the lead singer (Cory) was busted after the show and got into a fair amount of legal trouble.

But KISS was the first show I saw in its entirety.  Big Fun Too!

Hmm.  I can't really remember.  I think the first show I was dying to go to was Guns 'n' Roses w/ Skid Row, when I was in like 8th grade - this would have been just after Lies was released, I think. But I was too young. [sigh]

So, my first show was either BB King, outdoors in Florida (went with my dad and brothers) or Eric Clapton in Cincinnati (I won tickets off the radio by singing the guitar solos to 3 different clapton songs - funny thing is, I never listen to clapton anymore)
THese shows would have been 1990 or 91, and I was 12 or 13.

There must be a problem with the space-time continuum dear greggy, because you're the same age as me and I'm 17  ;)

Wow. T Rex has been extinct for thousands of years. Maybe you are older than Methusalah. Were you afraid of getting eaten alive?

Just curious, dust off the cobwebs and tell us how was the T-Rex show. I've seen a couple of old video clips to think it could have been one of the more interesting rock shows to come down the pike.
