Title: THE College Football Thread
Post by: HorkoLad on Nov 10, 2005, 08:22 PM
Anyone watching this shootout between Fresno and Boise?

Pinegar is an awesome fucking QB. I have a feeling their eventually going to wear down Boise.

Final Score:

Fresno - 43
Boise - 27

Bama loses this weekend to LSU. Although, it'll be close.

Fresno is tough, but I think USC beats them by 20.

How bout USC's remaining schedule....Cal, Fresno, and UCLA....yikes

How about the Oregon Ducks...only loss this year is USC and they have Washington State and Oregeon State left on their schedule....10-1 this year.

dude- UCLA is a .500 team if they're in the SEC or Big Ten.  i'm sorry- the Big 12 and the PAC10 are a JOKE.  i'd like to see USC finish their schedule with Auburn, Penn State, and Clemson :-/

yeah that call was awful..but then again Madison was getting burnt all day so they were bound to score on him, or at least get downfield

True that.

Rader's calling isn't completely shit. He just needs to learn when they're not running up the middle well, that he shouldn't call that play. Darby can only do so much up the middle if there aren't any holes.
Britt was having enough trouble (in his first start) snapping the ball. He sure as hell wasn't much help on the line, but they kept calling that god-damned play.

yeah i definitely agree about running him up the middle, but in the second half they didn't run near enough period....plus we should have used our speed at receiver better, like slants and outs and such..especially since croyle wasn't getting much time

" The Big Ten owns the SEC in recent bowl matchups, friends"

Not my Auburn Tigers.  Other than last year, when we beat Va Tech,  where we went undefeated and got screwed out of the National Championship, we've beaten Wisc and Penn St the years before that.  I don't remember exactly but it's been in the last 3 or 4 years.

Here are some pretty impressive stats about AU.  I think we don't get enough respect, even after going undefeated last year, but these numbers are pretty impressive if you ask me:

Auburn now has won 24 of its last 26 games overall and 17 of its last 18 SEC games. And five of its last six games against top-10 teams and five of its last six against Alabama. And four straight Iron Bowls, three straight postseason bowls and two straight games against Georgia.

Title: Re: THE College Football Thread
Post by: Half on Nov 22, 2005, 06:50 AM
yeah- Auburn has been tough and they haven't been getting the press they deserve.  i think it was the 2002 season (2003 bowl game) when they beat penn state.
Title: Re: THE College Football Thread
Post by: Virgil_Cain on Nov 22, 2005, 10:31 AM
I'm just curious to see who we will play in probably, the Capital One Bowl.  If Ohio St. doesn't get the BCS at large bid, I think we'll get them.  If not, we'll probably get Wisconsin.  But these guys think maybe we are deserving of an at large bid, which I would have to agree with, because I feel we're playing as well as anybody right now - and if you don't believe me, just watch a replay of the games against UGA and the absolute domination of Bama.

http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2005/TQ/Tuesday_Question.htm

I doubt we'll get it, but if they want a team that's gonna be fun to watch and bring alot of fans wherever we go, I think we'd be a great pick.

so what's with the big ten not utilizing a head to head tie-breaker? Penn State won this championship outright and Ohio State doesn't deserveto get any "share" of our championship...and they know it too

and yeah the oregon ducks should definitely be ahead of ND in the rankings with one loss to the #1 and i'm glad the BCS put them over the irish because with two losses it wouldn't be fair to put them ahead based solely on the name of the school

here's what it's all about in this podcast:

Come on.....they would have been 7-4.  No way you predict that.
