i dont know him too well, but ive been investigating more and more in recent years.  hes a quote machine, i tell you!

"A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fucking cross? It's like going up to Jackie Onassis wearing a rifle pendant."

"Watching television is like taking black spray paint to your third eye."

those are just some of my favourites.   ;D

You Mr. Dad.  It's unlike you to be online at nighttime.  Does this mean the sweet pea is sleeping more?

It would be so nice to have a comedian like Bill this day and age.  I always enjoyed his comedy and views.  Does anyone remember which Tool album played a clip from Bill on it?  Anyone know what i'm talking about??

I'm a big Bill Hicks fan...love his work.

I was lucky enough to see him once.  It was at a taping of Late Night With David Letterman.

Very cool! Do you remember what the date of that show was? I didn't even know about Bill until Tool turned me on to him. I saw (and recorded to VHS and later transferred to DVD) a documentary about him on Trio back in the late, late 1990's or mayby as late as 2000 that was hosted by Janeane Garofalo called Outlaw Comic: The Censoring of Bill Hicks. I just did a search for it on YouTube, and the whole thing is right here...

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL82E20FA42D77A422 (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL82E20FA42D77A422)

I later bought those great DVD's that CC Baxter was talking about a few years ago. The first one I got was Bill Hicks: Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian - Live, then Bill Hicks...Sane Man, and finally, American: The Bill Hicks Story from BBC. (I got all 3 at ear-X-tacy in Louisville.)

My brother and I got to see George Carlin twice. We had tickets to see him at the Louisville Palace theatre on September 28, 2001 (We needed this at that particular moment in time). We saw him again at the Palace on May 9, 2004. I can't even begin to tell you how much it meant to see George live before he died. He had been one of my heroes since a stole one of my dad's albums of Carlin when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I was so sad when he died.

That's awesome that you saw George Carlin.  I wish I had seen him but never did.

The date of the show was 3/19/93.  The clip is linked below.
