So there's this debate about which is better (in your opinion, of course) for breakfast....we're having a breakfast at work, and we're wondering what should be made and those are the two choices...what would YOU choose?
I'm going with pancakes. I LOVE pancakes....mmmmmmmm that makes me hungry right now for some!
Put me down for pancakes, what time do we eat? :P
well, the breakfast in question is weeks away...but how bout now!? ;)
I'll set both aside and take French Toast. 8)
I'm going with Waffles, they contain syrup better.
QuoteI'm going with Waffles, they contain syrup better.
That's true. Pancakes always soak it up too fast.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

waffles - they are like pancakes but have syrup traps. ;)
WAFFLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With pecans, blueberries and whip cream.
Quotewaffles - they are like pancakes but have syrup traps. ;)
It says to the syrup "You ain't goin' anywhere!"
ah Mitch Hedberg
waffles with maple syrup fresh fruit & natural yoghurt........
mmmmmmmmm
just a bit more yum than the shortbread biscuit i just had for breakfast! :)
im going with primushead here. FRENCH TOAST! fresh fruit and whipped cream tastes much better on french toast than a waffle!
zing! ;)
I like the crispiness (wd?) of waffles
ali--ummm, yogurt?

Well it's comforting to know that someone is wearing their breakfast thinking cap. French toast forever!
I've never had waffles :-/
I had pancakes in the US - man, that was a HUGE portion!
dragonboy, you so have to try waffles!! they are GREAT! really fresh, crunchy waffles, nothing better.
mmj-fanatic - my favourite brekky place serves them with yoghurt - its kind of thick, and not too sweet, so it works well with the maple syrup!!
not too sure about the whole "whipped cream on french toast" thing though.... banana yes, maple syrup yes, but whipped cream??? :P
How about some potato pancakes? I like crispy waffles too, now I gotta have both.
mmm delicious thread...
blueberry pancakes....slathered in real butter and buried in warm maple syrup
yes whipped cream on french toast, i know how it sounds, but the other day at cracker barrel, i had french toast with blackberries and whipped cream, and it was one of the best things ever. :)
Everything. All of it.
Waffles are pancakes made a different way. Now, french toast, that's somethin' else. Mmmmm.
I can eat more breakfast than anybody I know, and that includes my Dad, and that man eats. Holy. Now I totally wish I was in the states and could go to IHOP for breakfast. The fancy places where I live just don't cut 'er the same.
Now this thread begs the question...Waffle House, Huddle House, or IHOP?
I've gotta go with the southern specialty: waffle house.
Definitely IHOP.
QuoteDefinitely IHOP.
You just said that because they put crack in the pancakes...FREE crack:)
Waffle House for waffles, IHOP for 'cakes....
"You brought yo bitch to the waffle hut?"
I choose Pancake Palace in Nashville. This may be because I was with a boy who went by the name "Ass" and he asked for extra (extra!) grits. Plus, they had banana pancakes, which, if they're not banana waffles, are my favourite.
Who's been to Pancake Palace aside from me and hellaciousc? Tom? Tracy? (Corey, did you go ever?)
Also, I forgot to talk about sausage. A pancake/waffle breakfast is incomplete without sausages. Or maple syrup, and I do NOT mean Aunt Jemima.
you have to dip your sausage in the syrup, and then we're talking.

links or patties?
Quote
links or patties?
either one, really.

Come on. There can't be any fence sitting when it comes to sausage.

links, you pressuring bastard. ;)
I definitely go for the patties. For some reason they are fuhrickkin awesome to me...
And Meg, I have been to pancake pantry, but not with anyone named Ass. They were darn good though, but nowhere near good enough to be such a damned ridiculous tourist attraction. I mean, it is damn good, but two hour wait for damn breakfast? It beats the whole point.
Travis Tritt sighting my ass...they hype that place up so much in the papers. Gotta say, it can't be bad for bidness though.
By the way, IHOP has some kickass as hell chocolate milk.

links? you would say that. Sausage sucks anyway :)

its my preferred carcinogenic meat. ;)
I personally prefer bacon.....

Are you sure we're talking about the same place? Is there a palace and a pantry? hmmm... hmmmmmm... damn. Travis Tritt sighting, eh? You mean they don't have an autographed picture of Ass on their wall?
I'm a links girl, myself. Not a big fan of the patty. And ratsprayer, there is defiitely syrup on my sausage. Fo sho.
And johnconAway, le bacon, c'est bon!
(I've been all, "why does he got that big A in there? is he being gangsta? is it an inflection thing? and then i realized that people call you conway so much, now they'll know fo sho, yo.)
that's exactly why. I've had a lifetime of people mispronouncing my name. no one else would tolerate a vowel being left out of their name-why should I? ;)

I understand. People do the opposite for me, and stick a vowel in my first name.
stinkin' bastards. ;)
meag
meeg
meig
meog
meug
meyg?
really??
They've never done Meug before, but now I want everyone to do that. Meug. It's like swedish. Meug. In Japan, my name is pronounced ma-gen (no emphasis on either syllable, they're equally weighted). Actually, here's my name in japanese (as told to me by my friend Yumiko who is really wicked)
ma-gen ah-na ha-mi-la-ton nin-ja
Okay, holy hell I can't believe I'm still laughing at that. I am retarded. That's a joke from Christmas, and I'm still finding it...nevermind.
Anyhow, John ConAway, it's "Meag", thereby pronouncing it "meeg". It doesn't help that one of my best friends is a "meeg".
LOL.
actually, I thought you went more by "meghan" than anything else...am I wrong? 8)
QuoteLOL.

Okay, here's the weird thing about my name. There's no logic with the spellings and phonics of it.
I'm Megan, which is pronounced: may-gan (or some variation like that, but it's definitely may and not mee)
My good friend is Meagan, and it's pronounced mee-gan.
I know a few people who spell they're names Meghan, and their EITHER a Meegan or a Maygan. I know gals who spell their names my way, but pronounce it Meegan. I know Meaghans who are pronounced maygan.
It's very confusing for people, probably.
QuoteWho's been to Pancake Palace aside from me and hellaciousc? Tom? Tracy? (Corey, did you go ever?)
It's Pancake Pantry. It was famous before they remodeled (took out all the booths and walls in the middle, made it gymnasium like), and it remains famous.
I like going there but have stepped out of line to go somewhere else on a couple of occasions.
Damn. When I tell the story of that weekend, I always say Palace. Damn.
It was indeed very gymnasium-like inside. Gymnasium-like with fine, fine food.
just came back from WAFFLE HOUSE where I stuffed my hungover ass with Waffles, Hash Browns covered, smothered, and capped....and a big ass Vanilla Coke.
Carbo overload. Totally.... :P
i've been to the Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg, i'm not sure how different it is then the one in Nashville, but it is pretty damn good.

Yeah!! Waffle House hands down. Over here in the OK., AR. area we have roaches in our Waffle Houses which reminds me of my childhood, growin up with roaches and all. BACON.

I feel yer pain--with me people always want to substitute a c for the k in Erik--total pisser!

It is. :-/
I always want to pronounce it
May-gan, but a lot of the time it's actually
Meg-inn.
People call me Dena a lot. It's Dee-anna, but I guess they're seeing
Dean-na.
I never say Maygan. I normally go with a Meh-gan. Not "meh" as in "eh" which sounds like "ay" but more like "leg" or "keg".
Keg-an. Leg-an. Meg-an.
It's the full english breakfast for me!
Bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms and loadsa HP sauce!
Pancakes over waffles though...with sugar and lemon for me.
