The guy to the right of jim... does he not look like jim now?! Particularly in the recent press photos. At a quick glance, without noticing where jim actually was. I simply thought that was him quite a long time ago. Two Tone is crapping out for sure. And i love the stain on jims pants?

He is indeed. And Johnny Quaid, just to the right of Danny, is the old guitarist and Jim's cousin and the mystery voice behind "It's Been A Good 3 Or 4 Years"...

in "3 or 4 years' i never got what exactly johnny was talking about since (unless i'm mistaken) he didn't leave the band until after alost 2 years that was released, did he take a sabbatical before he left for good? or....i was hoping you could help me on that tom, since you're a wise sage of all things mmj

I think he's just reminiscing about all the cool stuff going down with the band. Sounds like he's been hard at work building stuff on the farm while Jim's been out doing solo shows, or maybe writing or something of that ilk. They toured a good deal, but definitely had some time off inbetween, too. Definitely not a leaving the band deal, just kind of a "damn, I'm glad to have done all this with you" kind of thing. You ever listen to this track on headphones? His wife/girlfriend's heckling throughout the call is wonderful.
and p.s. I work hard at the job, but if you want good knowledge, you want one of the old guys (and I mean that with utmost respect!) like JohnConaway who's been a fan since the beginning, or Tracy who's a huge fan, and probably our forum sage/wise man. Whole lot of good insight and info from those two!

well, around ISM is when i signed up and i read the forum a good deal, just don't post that often. i usually post more and more when they're on tour and i'm about to see them (5 times, RCMH will be 6 which in fact i got tickets for on the forum) and i'll read up on how they might be changing things up etc.
when i was younger i used to be on the weezer message boards every day. it was a fantastic community of people and as dumb as it sounds it changed my life as a teenager. you guys seem to have a real tight knit crew going on here and i love that sort of thing.
i wouldn't say your response was condescending at all. it was more of your own personal insight and more of a response than i ever could have asked for. I also looove how message board lingo doesn't sound as creepy and criminalistic as in real life.... haha "lurker"

Oh, man. This photo blew me away. Had to comment. I'm a lurker most the time on the forums--looking around usually when a new album is on the shelves. Like to see what people are thinking. This is the line up I first knew. I imagine this was taken in late 2000 or early 2001? When they were on Morning becomes Eclectic or whatever that Cali radio show is. Man, I looked at this picture ALOT back then. I just loved them. Still do. After all these years. I was so sad when Danny and Johnny left but have grown to love the new line up. This pic brings back so many memories. Of when I was able to see them perform like, every two months or so in front of like, 30 people in Bloomington, IN or in front of like, 100 people in Louisville. Gees...I'm feeling so nostalgic...If I only had a time machine...
