I never was much of a Twins fan, but I always loved Kirby (how could you not?).  I seriously almost started crying when I saw Dave Winfield (former teammate) talking about him on Sportscenter tonight  :'( .  I just bought a pet fish tonight and it will be named in Kirby's honor...

RIP Kirby, you will be missed...

i just found out. I always loved the way he played the game. Always with a big smile on his face.

I loved the way he played the game.  He absoulutly killed my Cardinals in '87.  He seemed like such a great guy.  I could never cringe when he made a great play against us......Kent Herbek was another story, I cursed that guy so bad that entire series.

Very sad indeed. Heard last night he was the second youngest Hall of Fame member to pass away. Lou Gehrig being #1.

unfortunately hes not the last.  a lot of guys from that generation will be dying young.
