No, I find it frustrating too.  Because I know plenty of awesome female musicians on a wide array of instruments.

But, when it comes down to it, 90% of indie bands have girls as bass players.

mine is 8.5, just in case anybody cares.

(i'm not really coming down on you lovely fellow, i just get really tired of all the goddamn gender talk in music. :))

I bet if you start a thread that says name your top 50 guitar players of all time, there wouldn't be a single woman on the list.  I am just saying.  Why is that?  Last I checked, about 50% of people were of the better variety. (That being women)
