Title: Swartho Bean?

Did anyone ever have a Swartho Bean? When I was growing up in Northwestern, NJ, they were the "big thing." In the early to mid 80s, no matter where you went in my area, everyone was growing/eating Swartho Beans. Basically they were genetically enhanced green beans that grew under intense heat. One, could feed an entire family. We'd grow them in a typical thicket shown here:

After they grew for about 3 months, we'd harvest them and store them in our basement for the winter. When the furnace shown here:

would kick on, the Swartho Beans would grow until they were removed from the heat. They would quickly be baked/boiled/grilled and butter and salt would be added for flavor. It was a great meal to have that cost virtually nothing, and supplied us all with a vast amount of vitamins. Have you guys ever dined on a Swartho Bean before? Anyone ever even hear of them?

i wonder if anyone outside the midwest would understand this?  i know its usually done best in the dark of night with no moon after a group of mates show you exactly where they hang out.   ;D

HorkoLad and i ventured into the untamed wilderness behind Mandy's house and i found poison.  later that night we washed Mandy's Pathfinder.  things got pretty weird
