Title: NFL?
Post by: primushead on Sep 17, 2006, 07:01 PM
Ok, so the panthers are really starting to piss me off.  0-2?!?!?!  That's ridiculous!!!  If they don't win their next game, I'm going to ride with San Diego for the rest of the season.  Philip Rivers is doing AWESOME and, of course, L. T. is still holding it down.

What's everyone elses take so far?

I'm so impressed with my Vikings, but next week against the Bears is going to be quite the test.  Thankfully it's at home.

hard to fucking tell with the colts.  they've proven they can go all season and play well, then fuck up big time in the playoffs.  i don't think they've really played great so far, just had the luck of playing inferior teams.  time will tell, i s'pose...

The Titans coaching staff is pissing me off. If we are going to be losing anyway, then dammit, take Kerry Collins out of there and put in Vince Young so he can get the experience.

The Ravnes look awfully nasty, if Mcnair can stay healthly the will be a player in the end. That said I am a Bengals fan and thrilled to be 2-0, although we may have had a few key injuries today. Its Squelers week!

Hey, I thought you were a Titans fan!   ;)

Saints fan since 1970 (6 years old). In fact, I remember Archie Manning's first game against the Rams (then Los Angeles) in 1971 and he ran it in on the last play of the game to win 24-20. We watched on TV but  recorded the game on cassette (not video cassette, audio cassette!!) and my brothers and neighbors and I would play the final drive on the cassette player and act it out. I don't think I ever got to be Archie, I was always a Ram.

Ahhhh, those were the days!

And now, ironically, I am a St. Louis Rams fan.  My favorite moment being "The Tackle" against what I thought were your Titans in the greatest Super Bowl of all time. :D

(Archie looks a bit more like Eli there than Peyton, I think.  Nice pic.)

Roethlesberger (sp?) was apparently running a fever yesterday before the game.
The post-game interview was kinda funny because he was telling the reporter that he felt good about seeing everything, but he just wasn't able to connect on some of the plays where he felt like he should have. He was being really positive about everything. Then she asked if he still had a fever and he replied, "I'm not feeling very well".... so I'm not completely convinced that he even knew where he was last night.

Its been all over ESPN radio today about Big Ben and his supposed not feeling well and him having 104 degree temperature. I think that is the worst excuse ever for a piss poor offensive performance. People need to give the Jags credit for holding  a good Steelers ground game to 26 yrds rushing and the hell with Big Ben and his temperature.  Also if he felt so bad why not start Batch?
Title: Re: NFL?

QuoteAlso if he felt so bad why not start Batch?

That's what I was thinking. Also, him feeling bad doesn't have much to do with how the backs ran the ball. It doesn't take much to hand the ball to someone, even if you are sick.

Can't win 'em all. Ground game never got goin, and when it doesn't, we usually lose. Jags are a former division-rival, and always seem to give the Steelers problems.

Havent won any Superbowls and I wasnt talking about Superbowls. Just talking bout the game yesterday and giving you a friendly ribbing. Also, to me it looks like the Steelers are awfully giving this year gave Jacksonville the game and gave Cincy the game yesterday. So when they give these games away is it the same as a loss or no? Maybe the Steelers have an extra column in the stats, Win-Loss-Tie-Gave Away is this correct?
Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: corey on Sep 25, 2006, 02:52 PM
The Bengals look pretty damn good so far. If you Palmer can manage to throw 2 INTs and still have a game like he did yesterday, I'd say they're in pretty good shape. I'm kinda rootin' for them this year.

I don't really have a favorite NFL team. I kind of float around as to who I enjoy watching. I tend to pick a couple of teams in the beginning of the year and watch them pretty closely. Oh, and I always catch myself rooting for the Bears, no matter how hard they might suck. But I think that all goes back to how cool I thought they were back in the '85 era with McMahon and Company.

They're drawing a lot of comparisons to the 1985 bears...but, why?  I agree that they're awesome, and you can't argue with their undefeated record.

But I agree with Rats.  Grossman is inexperienced and it'll show later in the season.

Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: primushead on Oct 09, 2006, 01:30 PM
It may be his 4th year, but he had to miss a lot of time in his first three seasons cause of the injuries and what not.  His stats are really impressive and he's a hell of a QB.  But I think he's done so well because of his offensive line, and a little luck.

I mean, I'm not saying that he's bad or anything and I don't doubt that they will end up in the playoffs...I just can't see the Bears making it to the superbowl.

I might be eating my words later in the year though ::)
Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: ratsprayer on Oct 09, 2006, 01:38 PM
yeah i agree with Primushead.  i'm not knocking grossman or anything.  i wish him the best.  i'd certainly rather see the bears go all the way instead of the seahawks.  i just think inexperience usually catches up in the end, unless you're lucky as fuck like rothliesberger was last year, and we've seen what he's like when the luck wears off.

in the end, i think this season will be quite exciting, as no one team still has impressed me fully.  both the colts and bears are undefeated, but they've mostly played shitty teams, so it's still too early to tell how they'll play quality opponents.

Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: jeffro79 on Oct 09, 2006, 02:32 PM
I think Grossman is the real deal. Hes been in the system for 4 years, so hes not learning as he goes. He played for Steve Spurrier and nows about pressure and large expectations. Plus its not like he has any super star wide recievers, I dont really know if they even have a legitimate NFL #1 wide reciever. I see the Bears going 14-2 or 15-1. If they get home advantage through out the playoffs they ARE going to the SB. That said WHO DEY! ;)
Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: nkdgunner on Oct 09, 2006, 07:32 PM
I respect every single one of your opinions (am a die-hard Bears fan), but I do believe the Bears are far and away better than most every team in the NFC, with the possible exception of the Eagles at this point in the season.
The thing about Grossman is that he has been watching and learning this offense for 2 years now, so he really knows the system better than most people give him credit for. Will he make mistakes? yes, but he has the defense to pick it up for him if the o is off. the running game is going to be fine all year long with 2 if not 3 legitimate starters (Jones, Benson, & Peterson.) The receivers catch the ball when they need to (3 rd down), can go deep if asked, and will get yards after the catch. Shit, we even have TE's cathcing the ball this year.
This defense is good enough to carry them to the Super Bowl. Hell, Mark Anderson ( a rookie) already has something like 5 sacks this year. Yes, it's only 5 games into a long season, but the Bears are not just beating people, they are dismantiling them. GB and Detroit suck ass, Minn and Buff are not  terrible teams, and Seattle went to the big one last year. Get on the bus now, b/c this is going to be one hell of a seson.

come on, you know as well as i do that he wouldn't be playing right now if he weren't completely ready for it.  i agree that his accident and the operation are a factor in his play, but i just think he's over rated and got extremely lucky last year, and we're beginning to see the 'mortal' side of him.

as far as near death experience goes, no matter how uncool it might look, i would never be such a fucking idiot as to ride  a motorcycle without a helmet, so i don't have any sympathy for the guy.

steelers definitely looked fuckin' impressive.  i don't know how much kansas city's shittiness had to do with it, but the rest of the AFC will have to watch out if they play like that.  the bengals got screwed on the officiating, but i learned from high school sports that you have to play well enough to not let the officials dictate the outcome of the game, and they most definitely didn't play well enough to make that happen.  ravens proved they don't have shit on offense and only rely on their defense to win.  the colts had a bye week, but still they've shown real problems against quality opponents.  the AFC is still up for grabs, methinks.

lots of blowouts and lots of close games this week.  it's shaping up to be a very good season.

the bengals are starting to turn it around. that's what happens when Carson and the defense are healthy.  oh and the refs stop calling roughing the passer every time a bengal touches the other teams quarterback.

btw, Favre had another career game with 51% completions, 2 INTSs, and QB rating of 54.  He's well on his way to 27 INTs like he had last year.  I hope he never retires!

The Saints/Cowboys game should be fun to watch. I'm looking forward to that one.

It also looks like Grossman is really fuckin' shit up (in a bad way) for the Bears. He had a HORRIBLE game this weekend. He's damn lucky the special teams and defense were able to put points on the board.

yeah, those are probably the best two teams in the NFC this year. that'll be a good game.  Lovie may have won coach of the year last year but I think he is subpar.  He was outcoached in the playoffs, he can't find a QB to save his life.  And yesterday at the press conference he kept saying were 10-2 with Rex as our quarterback so he's our guy but last year they played Orton in a similiar situation. I don't think Grossman or Lovie have what it takes to win deep in the playoffs.

I don't understand how you can judge favre on what he's done the last couple years when he's obviously been on a pretty bad team. He's had a great career and honestly I can't think of anyone who's bashed him as muchas you do.

Because I think he's overrated and always has been. yeah, he's on a bad team now but his superbowl team was pretty superb with Reggie White and the like.  He's always been a overrated, "gun-slinger" who threw too many interceptions and these past two years he's really shown his true colors.

Another reason I like to talk so much shit about him is beacuse no one else does, as you say!  He throws 4 INTs and the announcers blame it on his defense or the wind.  He was the worst rated starting QB last year and the media still acts like he's the best thing since sliced bread.  Then he won't tell his team if they're coming back or retiring, meanwhile Aaron Rodgers is getting paid to watch Favre throw 27 INTs a year and Favre refuses to even talk to him because "that's not his job".   if T.O. did that the media would have a field day.  his selfishness is going to hurt the GreenBay organization for years and everyone treats him like a stand up guy.  sorry for the rant, but you inquired.

Wow got to disagree with you on some parts of your Favre assessment.  Granted he can be extremely reckless, but the guy will go down as one of the top five qbs ever.  You can rip on him all you want for the last few years worth of play but he is an old man with shit for talent around him.

And as far as being selfish, Aaron Rodgers has shown nothing in games or practices from what I read and they may draft another qb in the next year or two.  Plus who is the  player everyone wants to see when they go to a GB game, its not Bubba Franks.

I might sound like a huge Favre fan but I am not, I am a Lions fan and that SOB has ruined many sundays for us here in Michigan the past 13 or so years.

Wouldn't argue with you there on Marino.  He is my top qb, best pure passer ever.  However who else can you put above him?  Unitas, then maybe Montana (but that whole team he was on were all pro bowlers and hall of famers) and then I would go Elway.  But he only won the super bowls with Terell Davis ripping it up.  He didn't win it with the likes of Winder, Lang, and Humphrey running the ball.

So yeah I would say definitely top five qb.

Plus super bowl rings don't factor a players greatness.  Peyton Manning will go down as one of the best whether or not he wins a championship.

Joe Montana
Dan Marino
Steve Young
Terry Bradshaw
Bob Griese
Joe Namath
Johnny Unitas (also should have retired earlier as well)
John Elway
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Bart Starr

Wow we got some Favre haters here.  Well no sense in arguing with you guys forever on this one.  I will just end it with two things- Reggie White was awesome but had to go to play on Favre's team to get the ring.  Correct me if I am wrong on that one.

And the other thing numbers don't lie.  Favre is second all time to Marino on passing yards, completions, and TDs.  And I don't believe Reggie White and Mike Holmgren caught any of those.

Good night and maybe we will argue tomorrow.   :)

I like Favre, I love to watch him play. But he's not one of the top 5 of all time.

And as far as numbers go, Emmit Smith is the all-time leading rusher but he is behind the likes of  Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Gayle Sayers, Barry Sanders, Tony Dorsett or Earl Campbell in the pure talent category.

Numbers shmumbers.

let me help you aMD: (clears throat)

Folks, I swear, I am just having fun here.

I apologize if my sarcasm is interpreted as belittling.

I am under the impression that we are all fans of the NFL here and I say the same things to people here (in arguments) that I would say to my closest friends. Intellectual jousting with insults (see The Dozens in hip hop culture) is how we see it. No harm.

Perhaps I am taking too many liberties with my quick wit and my craftmanship of the English language.

If I disagree with your choice of favorite NFL team, I will disagree. I'll try not to get too personal (families, pets, hairstyles, etc...) however, if you leave yourself wide open to some good hearted ribbing, please accept it for what it is.

Please, dish it back, but don't take it personally. Just having fun with my sarcastic wit; if you don't find it funny, then don't respond.

But if you say "The Steelers are great...the Bengals suck" or "so and so can't take criticism", then I have to respond....because it's  F U N

Be careful out there...

what do you mean "merely playing out the rest of their season"?  The Bengals control their own destiny to get into the playoffs, they are hot and healthy (mostly) at the right time of the year.  The Steelers are out of the playoffs but the Bengals are far from it.

The Saints are doing great this year and I love watching them play, but let's not forget that Cincy beat them in the Superdome and would beat Dallas or New Orleans in the playoffs.

I am looking forward to watching that game, but first I've got to go to the local brewery to watch the Bengals game as it is not on tv.

The Bungles beat the Saints when Brees lit you up for 510 yds (37/52 passing). The problem was he threw 3 picks, 2 in the end zone. I'd feel pretty good about a re-match.

this thread will get much more interesting if the Bungles are in position to make the playoffs on the last day of the season when Shittsburg comes to town.    I expect some wagering from you guys.

Drew Brees?
LT?

I wish it was like baseball, nl and an al mvp. They both are worthy. I'll have to go with......I'll decide later.

Quotecarson palmer.

3 pretty decent games out of the season so far don't make a strong case for NFL MVP.  rudi johnson has done more for the team than carson.  get over it, carson is overrated.  chad johnson would be a better candidate than carson.

i'd say:

bengals 31
colts 21

colts do a much better job of stopping the run, but the safeties are pulled too far up the field to stop the deep passes.  i wish i were wrong, but it's wot i feel at the moment.

Carson overrated? Your crazy. Name me a QB who currently plays in the NFL who's better (other than Peyton).  Maybe Brady but ONLY on the basis of his jewelry.  But you're right, the Johnsons are pretty good too.
Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: ratsprayer on Dec 14, 2006, 08:59 PM
carson is a damn fine quarterback, when he shows up.  i just don't think he's in the running for MVP.  admittedly hating to go with popular opinion, but i think LT and drew brees are pretty much tied at the current moment, based upon the impact they've had on their respective teams.  if the kansas city chiefs had a better record, you could throw larry johnson in the running as well.  the entire bears' defense would certainly win, if that were allowed.

Drew Brees has a 1-higher QB rating 2- thrown for more yards 3- thrown for more TD's 4- thrown less interceptions 5-has higher completion % 6- better win/loss record.
But I am sure you'll stick with your statement that Palmer is better.
Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: aMD on Dec 14, 2006, 09:11 PM
damn logic, okay you're right, brees and LT are better candidates.  I think carson's off-games have less to do with him "showing up" and more to do with his major knee surgery less than a year ago.  Other than last week and the first part of the season, Carson has looked like his usual self this year.
Title: Re: NFL?
Post by: primushead on Dec 15, 2006, 01:15 AM
LT is the BEST candidate.

But...could I throw Philip Rivers' name in there as well?  I think he's been a badass this entire season.  I mean, he's got an offensive line from hell to back him up, but he's been doing great as a "rookie".

actually I will.  Compare their numbers from last year, or Carson's numbers last year to Brees' numbers this year.  That's when Carson was 100% healthy and had a O line that showed up for every game.  Carson's been sacked three times as much as Brees while trying to protect a banged up knee this season but he's still made throws that Brees couldn't pull off.  When Carson retires we'll see who's in the hall and who's not.  And let's not forget this season's head to head match-up: Carson 1 Brees 0. (I do like Brees though, because he's a Boilmaker)

My point was that the Bengals have three players who are better candidates for MVP than any player on the team you root for so I don't know why you'd choose to talk shit about any of those Bengal players.  Another point I made was one that I had already made about conceding the fact that there are currently players who are better candidates than Carson.  Man, I don't know if I can make it any simpler than that or repeat in yet another way.  I could draw you a picture or maybe you should just read my posts more carefully before you respond.

I didn't say that. Jesus christ, people!  Do they not teach you to read in Shittsburg? I said that Carson is not the best candidate for MVP.  That's six times now.  And I know you never said any Steelers were better candidates for MVP, I said that and the reason you don't want to debate it is because you know it's true. even though i bet against the colts, i'm fucking happy as hell that they won.  we saw who the better quarterback was.  i think we all saw why carson will only be a 'slightly better than average' quarterback.  he's a hell of a passer in the physical sense, but he doesn't have the leadership skills all the GREAT quarterbackers need to have.  the colts' run defense still makes me cringe, but dwight freeney is getting back his fire, and that should be scary to their remaining opponents.

I am a life long Charger fan, probably the only one of the East Coast.  I even caught the snowball game vs the Giants back in 95.  I agree with your post, the chargers take it this year, but the team with the top record never seems to win it, so I am a bit nervous.

As far as the list of top QBs in history, no one mentioned DAN FOUTS!!!!! Don Coryells late 70-early 80s offense was one of the most exciting in history.  Brady, Roethelsberger, etc, these guys only wish they could throw like Fouts.

I'm no homophobe. I love homos(i'm not gay), my barber is a homo, my interior designer is a homo. GOOD PEOPLE. I'm not there judge, God is. I didn't want to start a new thread for questions regarding an ex-NFL Q.B.

Saints fans are just bitter because the road to the super bowl goes through CHICAGO.  Although I would rather play the Saints than the Eagles, they look tough.

even though it's only one game after a season long disappointment of games, i'm feeling good about the colts' defense.  they're playing with the potential they possess.  the offense struggled, but they were still able to grind out the win.

I'm just now catching up in this thread.

Coupla things...

I can't believe the Colts defense managed to stop LJ the other day. I was pretty sure he'd run for at least 150 on them. Nope.

My wife and I are throwing a B-day party for a friend this weekend and she has already told me that she didn't care if I sneak off to the bedroom to watch the Saints game on Saturday. Woot!

On the other hand, I can't decide who I want to win in the Saints/Bears game. I'm rooting for both of those teams. So...... I hope the winner of that game beats the winner of the Colts/Pats game. Fuck those guys.

oh i got more, they are the luckiest team ever. you're right it wasn't pretty, at all. seriously they are the only team that can win without any offense, they have none. thomas jones isn't good, he's alright at best.  rex grossman, one word...junk.  they have sub-par receivers.  the d is falling apart. i really think they will get to the superbowl, i do, cause they are lucky. they might win the superbowl because of luck.
they don't deserve a superbowl, at all. the nfc is weak, really weak.  your'e a bears fan, i get that.  lets be real, the superbowl is this week pats vs indy. i don't even like those two teams, i respect them. the bears are good no doubt, they're not great. i wrote that they will never ever never ever win cause lucky teams shouldn't win. I don't like the Pats or the Colts, and the Saints looked pretty awesome and convincing in their win (if only by the hair on their chinney-chin-chin) over the Eagles.  I originally predicted a Chargers-Saints bowl, but now I'm saying Pats/Saints.  Methinks the Peyton Manning choke is about to happen...like Schottenheimer's with the Chargers.

Calling a 13-3 team playing for the Super Bowl "lucky" is silly and shows how much you know about football; very little. And this is coming from a Saints fan. Just be a fan and watch the game, no need to talk a bunch of shit about Rex Grossman who has more atheletic ability in his big toe than you probably have in your entire body.

Jones 11th ranked rb, thats above average or alright. i said their d was falling apart, last four weeks they were ranked 27th in the league. and they are lucky.

my favorite line was "grossmon who has more atheletic ability in his toe"

what makes a football fan? a  person who doesn't know the stats? then i guess you're number one. or a person who knows and studies the game?

i said the bears were good, but not great. i can't lie. grossman is junk, and if the bears had somewhat of a backup, he would have been gone weeks ago. i'm not going to say grossman is good, when he isn't. i'm not going to say thomas jones is a great running back, when he's not. i'm not going to say the bears d wasn't falling apart, when they were. its not a cheap shot at the bears, cause they did it to themselves. i didn't  make the  stats, they did.

stop being so sensitive. i'm a hater. its just a word. it doesn't mean i hate him personally. a hater is someone who rags on a player... thats it.  thats why people called me a hater in the first place. even before i said i was a hater of grossman. no one in their right mind could hate a person they don't know. although i guess i do hate paris hilton (i don't no why i just do). i sure i going to hear some shit for saying that.  but to say i "hate" rex grossman, are you kidding me? i don't "hate" him. i'm a hater of him (i rip on him).  you don't have to go that far in depth with the word hater. it is what it is. a word. life isn't all duckies and bunnies. i'm going to say some negative things, i can't love everything about everyone. sorry. like i said before, the players and the team made the stats, i didn't. you're opening up a can of worms by saying the word "hate". saying "hate" is taking it to far....for some people.

eagles fans "hate" the cowboys. bears fans "hate" the packers. the league is full of "hate". i love the "hate". i don't know one eagles fan that would just say "i don't like" the cowboys. they say "i "hate" the cowboys."

So, I was in New Orleans last weekend for my birthday and a friend surprised me with tickets to the game!  Holy moly...it was amazing!  The atmosphere in the city after the win was fantastic...good times all around!  On Sunday, you could hear the people in the bars cheering as loudly for Seattle as they had the night before for the Saints...

As fate would have it, I may be back down there for Super Bowl Weekend...Krewe du Vieux rolls on Saturday and if the Saints are in the SB on Sunday, that would make for a geat weekend...

GEAUX SAINTS!

The weather forecast for tomorrows Bears-Saints game calls for snow to start around 7 or 8 in the morning and lasting through the afternoon. People always talk about Bear weather, which is a bunch of crap. Although, if does indeed snow, the Bears will definitely win this game. Personally, I'm hoping for a blizzard, ala the Pats-Raiders game from 2001. Football is soooo much more fun when the elements suck a fat one.

on a side note..........do you think our pals are rooting for the Bears?

Congrats Saints fans for a good season. Keep your chins up, you will get another chance very soon. You have solid young team. Bush should not have pointed back at Urlacher on his touchdown run, he released some bad MOJO on the rest of his team. Rookie mistake.
I'm already tired hearing  the super bowl shuffle.

Nothing to be upset about Saints fans. That was one helluva season.

I'm watching this Colts-Pats game, i wonder if the Colts even care anymore. Peyton just keeps throwing it deep and crossing his fingers. Marvin has also dropped several passes. That duo is done next season.

Not the best game I have ever seen. Hard to win when you turn the ball over 4 times and your opponent has zero turn overs (and commits 1 penalty). And not enough Deuce. Maybe next year we can get the home field advantage and someone besides Fred Thomas to play corner.
In defeat, I am glad to see Grossman and Thomas play like NFL players, especially since they were getting hated on. I will say Reggie Bush's TD was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen (but the taunting was silly).

We'll be back.

did you see the weird parallels between him and Noll and Cowher?

fuckin' Pittsburgh.  more stadiums than coaches in the past 38 years.  wow.

by comparison, the colts have had 15 coaches in the same time period.

and now parcells says bye bye to Dallas...didn't see that one coming.

Yeah man.  Parcells is gone.  I don't think anyone saw that one coming.

I'm also wondering what Cowher is going to do when he gets through playing golf for a couple years.  I really wish he would go down to NC State and bring their football team back...but I doubt that will happen.

Oh well, I'm just glad I can watch the superbowl this year now that the Patriots aren't going to be in it.

Man, I just got done watching Mike Tomlin's press conference here in PA, and, I'll be honest, at first I didn't like the hire, but after watching him and seeing why everyone else was so impressed with this guy I am extremely pumped about the Steelers' chance at returning to the Super Bowl in years to come. Plus, LeBeau is coming back, and he is a defensive genius.

Congrats to Peyton's and his Colts.

I don't want to hear anyone talk shit about Grossman.  I'm not at all a fan (since he went to flordia and replaced Orton (a Purdue guy)) but any qb who can lead the team to a superbowl is worthy of praise not constant criticism.  Rex grossman has now gone to as many super bowls than Dan Marino and 90% of current NFL QBs.

I can't help but mention that the Bengals could have / should have represented in the AFC but oh well.  btw, Chad Johnson IS the best receiver in the NFL.  And it's not because he lead the nfl in receiving yeards, it's because he's ALWAYS OPEN!  Let me ask you this: how do you stop 85?

Chad Johnson might be the best of he didn't drop so many passes. Its pretty easy to disrupt him out of his game too. Steelers have done it many times.

Colts 38 Bears 24...There you go some Super Bowl talk. I don't know why I am imagining such a large defeat, but I just have that feeling that Manning will be cool and calm in the SB and will pick apart the secondary. It will be interesting to see how Rex does cause the Colts D does not give up the long ball, which is what Rex throws very well. The Colts will make him dink-and-dunk his way down the field and that causes Rex problems. The Colts have too many weapons on offense for the Bears to stop completely. Reggie, Marvin, Dallas Clark, Fletcher and the two-running back combo. Take both WR's away and then Clark tears the D apart, ask the Pats. Either way, I am rooting for the Colts since I am an AFC type of guy. I was never a Colts fan, in fact I wanted Kansas City to beat them, but then they played the Ravens and Patriots, two teams which I HATE and NEVER root for, so I caught myself jumping off my couch when the Colts made the last INT to beat the Pats...Here we go Steelers, Here we GO! Tomlin gets them back into the playoffs next season. Bengals will, well, they're the Bengals.

Go Steelers.

So far, a private school has decided to cancel classes the day after the Super Bowl.
A local group shot a music video in front of the Dome (after they were asked to leave Monument Circle because they did not have a permit).
Every where you look there are brand new jerseys, sweatshirts etc. being worn. I especially like the pink and white Manning jerseys all the ladies are wearing.

In other words, Who Dat has been around a lot longer than Who Dey (and yes, this is a silly discussion)

he should get his praise for the moment, thats all. just cause he went the superbowl, and even if he does win doesn't make me a good qb. grossman is only good when he doesn't have to win a game and has to play average. if he tries to win the game by himself, he fucks up. so hopefully they can play with a lead the whole game. trent dilfer, brad johnson, mark rippen etc. they're not  good qb's and they won a superbowl. it just shows that average qb's can win a super bowl. hopefully he does. i have 5 bucks on grossman winning it.  big money

Receipe for Bears success.  RUN RUN RUN. Stop Colts run. Force Manning to throw every play.  Hopefully Mannings thumb is still really sore and he throws up some more of those ducks he was throwing at the end of the Pats game.  Although his ducks are more accurate than Grossmans Spirals.  God damn I hope good Rex shows up on game day.  I hope the kid can shake all the negativity.  He is REALLY a nice kid,  he does a ton of charity in the Chicago area and gives back to the community. Like he should.

The best part of the game was the Anderson sack and the halftime show. I know it's tough to get the sound right for that sort of thing, but the sound during the halftime show always sucks balls. It's a good thing that Prince can sing AND play his guitar 'cause that's about all you could hear.

I thought it was a good game.  I'm glad Peyton won it and the MVP, now people can stop talking shit about him.

Now I have to make the transition into basketball.  Here's to next season: Who Dey!

Joey Porter released. Big Ben's work ethic is in question (last one on the field....first one to leave?) New head coach! Uncertainty in da 'burgh.

That was surprising about Porter, given his endless shit talking.  I think the new coach is cleaning house under the guise of "salary cap movement".  Blah blah.
