i listened to Acadian Driftwood 8,000000fffr490 times today, so hopefully that ensures my safe passage into the land of the north.

a couple of tx girlz are going to come to the release party.  oh, and THE WORLD PREMIERE OF DOROTHY MANTOOTH'S MUSIC VIDEO FOR ONE OF THE SONGS ON THE EP.

just some hangin' and dance partyin'.  oh and ladies, i think shelby's band will have a show that weekend, too (i'm in that band), so it just keeps getting sicker.

corey, are you guys still thinking of coming in the fall??????

keep it up!
just so you know, you have to know the anthem in both languages, otherwise they don't let you in.

I was in Toronto in October.  Spent 4 hours in the bus station/walking around downtown.  Had supper at a nice little Irish Pub.  It was pretty enjoyable.

Only been there once and LOVED it! CN tower, first Hard Rock cafe in North America etc., etc. The list could go on and on. It seemed like a clean, safe New York to me.  Stayed far Northeast of town and took the train in daily. It was actually enjoyable to use public transport.  Hope to visit again sometime.

I'm coming!!!

August 6th is the Hold Steady show, so I think I'll be arriving sometime on the 4th.  Then I've got a ticket for the Blue Jays game on the 5th.

I need some tourist-y things to do, suggestions?

The show is at the Opera House.  I'll be flying solo; I promised myself I'd see THS next time they came to Canada and here we are.  I need a quick little shake-up before another Winter sets in.

A beer, bunny hugs and talk of Saskatoon sounds wonderful.  Will your new EP (is it an EP?) be out  by then??

I'll be waiting for this list...

ep will be out by then, yes, hence why i might not be here.  BUT IF I AM!!!!! jeez, if i am then i'm gonna go to the hold steady show, too!
:)  list forthcoming...

I've been meaning to tell you Meg, I love, love, love (to the tenth power) "Detroit"
I bet it sounds friggin' hardcore live.  Speaking of which, I am still waiting on that midwest tour. :)

Can we do the same paypal thing with the ep?  Or should I just get it thru Scratch?
It's July right?

ah nice, bh.  thank you very much. :)
it's july 10th, and i think scratch sells them for less because i have to sell to them for less so that prices can be normal in hmv where nobody will probably buy them anyhow.

but i digress.

scratch is a really nice company and they distribute some really great records, so i would choose them (AND save money!)

buying from indie sources saves music!  listen to that, it's true!

ok, back on topic.  today in toronto, the weather is beautiful and i am going to go eat my lunch outside. :)

red, do you play music?  if so, we'll put a couple of really great instrument shops on the list. :)

The only instrument I play is my stereo.  ;D

I got a Jays ticket for August 5th, can't wait for that.  I've seen them play before, but not at Skydome (yeah, I know).

listen, keep july 19th free if you can.  whothrewthecake and dorothy mantooth are coming to visit, and there's a concert that night that we're going to.  i'll pm you about it. :)  if not, and if i'm here, then yes, we will rock the opera house to the ground at the hold steady!!!!

still thinking, red, still thinking, i promise. :)  i need to see what's going on in this city in august for you.

Sounds great.

Here's the part where everyone recommends where I can get the best poutine for Toronto and Montreal.  That's pretty much all I plan on eating for 3 or 4 days.

What's the best way to get from Toronto to Montreal?  It appears to me to be the train, but I'm not sure.

the bus might be the cheapest - it's about 8 hours, i think.  but i would look into flying out of the new toronto island airport (YTZ).  my friend is a pilot with a new airline there, and i've heard there are crazy cheap flights currently.  :)

The bus is indeed the cheapest route, although it would take no longer than 6 hours to get to Montreal. I've driven the 401 route many times and can get to Montreal in 5 1/2 hours.
