noooooo not johnny. :(:(
man, i must've watched dirty dancing 497 times in my life.
aw. god that would be so weird to find out you had five weeks to live. and even worse for the people who loved you.
What a shame, so horrible for anyone to go through, I wish he and his family luck. Now I'm gonna have to dust off my Roadhouse VHS tape. And then find a VHS player while I'm at it.
I was hoping by bad news you meant they were making Roadhouse 3 without him or something...pancreatic cancer is the worst. Thoughts and prayers to Mr. Swayze and his family.
When I saw the words Patrick Swayze I assumed this thread was going to be funny. Too bad. :(
I heard about him this morning, very sad. He is a talented guy, trained in ballet, a stage actor and singer, and probably has 30 or 40 film credits to his name.
On a lighter note, the news reminded me of one of my favorite pieces from The Onion; "The Way Of The Swayze: How To Be A Thoughtful Hunk" (I feel it should be pronounced Sways, for maximum coolness):

Jeff Healey & now Patrick Swayze? (both in the movie Roadhouse together)
That really is too bad. The only Patrick movie I own is Donnie Darko (one of my favs) I'll have to watch that & rent Roadhouse.
5 weeks?!! Shit :'(
Some good news?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7280533.stm
His agent said reports that the Dirty Dancing star had only five weeks to live were "completely untrue".
His doctor George Fisher said in a statement: "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far.
"All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue."
That is much better news. I noticed the original article cited the National Enquirer as their source. That would explain the exaggeration.
Really sad news that Swayze's co-star in Roadhouse, blues and Candian music icon Jeff Healey died of cancer a few days ago. I hope Patrick can beat the worst cancer of them all, survival-rate wise.
