Brad got in an accident yesterday at work. He hurt his hand pretty bad, and I hate it for him. I wanted to start a thread for well-wishing!
Get well soon, babe! I love you and can't wait to ROCK OUT with you at the MMJ shows in Louisville and Nashville.
:-*
Love,
Meg
Get better soon, and have a helluva time at your concerts! ;)
Get well Brad.
This thread makes me feel loved. Thanks, yall!!
I had to get 3 or 4 stitches to hold the tip of my middle finger back together... I was working on a Saturday, which was my first batch of bad luck. As I was trimming some prints, the exacto blade must have hit a nick on the ruler and got derailed right into the hand holding the ruler... the blade went down the ruler and cut a quarter of my fingernail in two and I had a chunk of finger sort of, uh, hanging. It was nasty - didn't get any blood on the artwork, but I was a mess - I actually nearly dropped out due to the shock, but thankfully I had some diet cranberry nearby to keep me awake.
To make matters worse, the lortab isn't doing much for me and there is also an issue with my worker's comp... I won't say much until things get resolved, but I'm not happy.
p.s. Im left handed, so thankfully Im still sketching!
oh man.
feel better bud
Alabama QB John Parker Wilson and head coach Nick Saban say: We hope you feel better Brad.

i'm surprised the loratab isn't working---! i got some from my dentist--they worked great--
hope you feel better....!
It sounds like you're already doin' better, good to hear. Keeping the tips of your fingers is a good thing.
I'm kind of a weenie when it comes to (my own) blood. I get light headed at those deep, little cuts that probably only would need a stitch or two if I cared enough to do anything about them, but just end up leaving cool little scars. I just always go for a clean rag and put pressure on it...to stop the bleeding, yes, but also just so I don't have to look at it :-/
Crap so it's your fret hand? Man that really does sucketh.
QuoteCrap so it's your fret hand? Man that really does sucketh.
Actually, I fret with the left. My dad has a bunch of Martins, so he refused to let me play backwards... Heh.

That's lucky I guess.
Looks like you won't be having any "me time" for a while, eh Brad? :D
Get it? Me time?
Ya know?
For real though, I hope it gets better.
Ouch. I hope those happy pills kicked in today, buddy. Feel better.

jesus, brad, you've had a run, haven't you?! :P
i hope this is the end of injuries for you.
maybe you'll find some good star wars band-aids to sport during your convalescence.
also: an oversized novelty foam #1 hand will serve as good protective cover during your upcoming jacket shows. :D
Get well soon.
OUch! Hope that gets better. My babysitter accidentally cut the end of my finger off in the playpen I was in when I was four. It got sewed back on and is as good as new (except for the scar.)

Did she babysit you again after that?
Wow, indeed that does suck! I once nearly cut the tip of my own finger off one night when I was enjoying some cab franc and suddenly had to go into battle against a crusty baguette with my woefully, badly-in-need-of-a-sharpening, bread knife. It was horrible and I do believe that I saw my own finger bone! I didn't know where the hospital was because I had just moved to a new place, and plus, unless I'm dying I will probably not go the hospital if I can avoid it, but I wrapped the shit out of my finger with kitchen towels until the bleeding stopped and band-aided the hell out of it the next days. I could feel my pulse through the wound for a couple of weeks. It only took about 8 months for me to get the feeling back in that tip, but it did come back, fortunately! Lesson: Alway, but always, have sharp kitchen knives; or if that is an impossibility, just tear at the loaf directly and avoid the knives altogether. (Sometimes I feel that eating with my hands is more delightful than using utensils. Seriously. If you're ever down, try eating spaghetti with no utensils. Your day will be brightened.)
Feel better Ewok!
Hope everything heals properly and quickly!
Get well soon Angry. Did they make you pee in cup since it happened at work ?
Quick story. On a sunday about 15 years ago I smoked a fatty. The following day I was operating a band saw and cut the tip of my finger off. I went to the hospital and I had to take a drug test. I thought for sure I was busted. So I thought it would be a good idea to tell my boss before they sent him the results of my positive test. So The following day I went into his office and told him and he said it was very honest of me to come clean and it showed integrity. As I was walking out of his office he said the test came back NEGATIVE. The look on my face had to be priceless. So I went home and finished my spleef, ate a box of ho ho's and contemplated what a big douche I was for having integrity :)
I got a tip for ya, Just the tip ;D
QuoteSo I went home and finished my spleef, ate a box of ho ho's ...

Awww...bro. Fix that paw so that you may properly salute the boys this weekend. ;)
Hope you get to feelin' better.

They could have, if they didn't hang up when the hospital tried to verify worker's comp. Yeah, this ain't over, yet, I'm afraid.
But hey! I'm feeling much better - I think everyone's kindness has healed my finger... I love ya'll... I just hope I don't need another get well soon thread
next month... jeez.
Yeah it seems that this thread pops up quite often :-/ Get well soon and NO high fives for three weeks
I hope your hand heals. I make a lot of models and I have cut myself a couple of times...it's no fun. You need one of these...

That is a neat little gizmo, Very easy to make. All you need is a piece of angle iron or an aluminun tee bar maybe 2" x 2" x 1/4.
OOPS !!!! patent pending ( whatever the hell that means ). Does it mean anything anymore ?
Everything happens when I've been away!
Probably late but : I hope you're healing quickly and feeling better by now! Good luck on getting it all sorted out.
