Well, and then there was the time they said we'd get 1 to 2 inches and we got around 10.  I think our weatherman are simply known for being really bad at their jobs.  Right now it's just rain, but they're calling for 3 to 4 inches by tomorrow morning.

have fun with the white stuff. here in upstate ny we have had far less than usual this season. i'm pretty sure the southern mid-atlantic states have had 2 or 3 times as much with all these huge storms.

OK, time for my rant.

BLIZZARDS are supposed to be worse the further NORTH and AWAY from the coast you go.

SO WHY IS IT THAT THE AREAS TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF ME ARE GETTING 2 FEET OF FUN WHILE I, UP IN THE MOUNTAINS, AM ONLY GOING TO GET 4 INCHES?

It really has been an odd winter for sure.  We're looking at our second storm of 20+ inches already.  Weird :-?

agreed. the weather man was saying 3-4 for us but i'm sure it'll be more like 2. the biggest 'storm' of the season thus far was only about 7 or 8 inches. and other than that, just a bunch of 1 or 2 inchers.

In Toronto, at least downtown, there's barely snow (it's been a dry winter so far). In the northern 'burbs and in surrounding towns, there's more snow, but nothing to get excited about. Last year we got pounded with snow. It's been kinda cold this year though.

I'm off to work the Olympics on Sunday and both Vancouver and Whistler (where many of the skiing events will take place) don't have snow and won't be getting any. The organizers have had to truck in snow from outside the region. I hear the temps range from -5 to +7 Celcius (7 is 44F), which is not winter weather to say the least.

Yep it's pretty great here.  Y'all should come visit!  Only about an 1.25 hours (55 miles or so) by car to Trillium Lake, where I'm going manana.  It looks a lil like this only more snowy right now:

They've upped our predicted snowfall accumulation to 30 inches.

Apparently the greater DC area is getting "bonus snow" now.  The real storm is still in Alabama.

Soups on and the beer's cold...so long as we don't lose power, I'm ready!!

Got about 9-10" altogether. Took off the initial layer of wet/slush yesterday and getting ready to go throw the rest of it although I will have to touch it up throughout the day due to considerable drifting. I feel like a golfer who uses it as an excuse to be outside and enjoying the elements...

Must of got somewhere between 24-30 inches here in Altoona, PA. Took me like 2+ hours just to dig my car out of the snow, and I shovel like its exercise. New pet peeve is people on my street who instead of piling snow up on the curb and part of the sidewalk throw it in front of your car  >:(

The snow removal in this town is terrible though. No sign of plows at all Friday night, and they must not have come thru until late saturday morning. Basically no change in how it has looked since then. Ridiculous

Trying to find a parking spot is going to be like that Seinfeld episode where George needs the closest spot. I didnt even go to a super bowl party yesterday that I would need to drive to because I didnt want to lose my spot that took me 2+ hours to clean  ;D

It'll hit me first, and I won't be happy as I do not get to play and work has never called it off in the 10 years I've been there. Damn my company's ability to keep their parking lots clean on short notice

My car is still invisible on a road that still hasn't been plowed.  Luckily I've been able to borrow another car.

Now we're getting 12-20 inches tomorrow and Wednesday on top of the 30+ inches we already got :D  This city is gonna shut down.  There is no room to put the snow!

Same here man. Supposed to get 8-10 inches overnight tomorrow. Class is supposed to start at 630 AM. Im sure if we actually get accumulation like that there will be a delay or cancellation, but I dont even want to think about waking up at 430 AM to dig my car out of the snow and then do school for 10 hours

..and yeah, I got nowhere to throw the snow as well :D

Apparently, there is now a $200 fine for being on the roads right now.  I'm gonna try to hoof it about 2 miles in these conditions to go play board games.  There better be a liquor store open on the way!  I need some bourbon...NOW

Yeah, it's been pretty rough over here.  I'm not gonna lie, I've lived in places with worse consistent weather but this stretch of 4 feet of snow in 5 days is unthinkable and there is nothing else to talk about except for this madness.  I love the people that try to act cool about it.  This isn't Buffalo or Minneapolis, it's B'more and most people didn't even own snow shovels until last week.  PANIC!  NOW!  RUN!

how could they even enforce a $200 fine for that?! its not like everybody would be aware of it.

Im not sure what Louisville looks like right now, but you'd be best suited if you have some experience driving in bad conditions.
