Thought this show deserved it's own thread. Sounds like time (drugs?) have worn Chris's voice a little but he still sounds great IMO.
I've not downloaded the whole thing yet but the 2 Temple Of The Dog tracks are def worth having if nothing else.
Doesn't Remind Me
Like A Stone
Wide Awake
Fell On Black Days (Soundgarden)
Be Yourself
Billie Jean (Michael Jackson)
Original Fire
Redemption Song (Bob Marley)
(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace, Love and Understanding? (Elvis Costello)
All Night Thing (Temple of the Dog)
Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden)
Call Me A Dog (Temple of the Dog)
Thank You (Led Zeppelin)
Nice db! Jackpot. I still havn't got around to getting the new Audioslave yet. Anyone have it? The last one I thought was fantastic.

I thought it sucked. Should i give it another chance?
Yer I thought the 1st Audioslave was OK, didn't like the 2nd & aren't going to bother with the new one.
Listening to this show I wish Chris would go out on his own & make another solo record. I love...what's it called? Morning Euphoria or something...
Oh wow, you guys really didn't like the 2 nd one? Hmmmmm.....I don't listen to as much heavy stuff as I used to but I love that CD. The halloween season has forced me to give the new Tool another try too and it sounds pretty good the next time around...

I'm really not feeling that one.
So far the new Tool & Pearl Jam's 'Avacodo' (funnily enough both released on the same day) are my
2 biggest disappointments of the year.
I finally burned this a listened all the way thru. It is really really good. You should download the whole thing but at least do yourself a favor and check out the Billie Jean, Thank You and All Night Thing.
I've only downloaded "Black Hole Sun".
:o

I like 10,000 Days a lot. J5's Feedback is my official biggest dissapointment of this year. Where's Cut Chemist? No obscure instrument and sound samples which was one of my favorite things about J5.

No kidding? Me too, I sold my copy in disgust.
Like you said, hands down biggest disappointment of the year.
So you like Hip-Hop? Do you have Game Theory? Could well be my album of the year.

Yes I love hip hop, very picky about it though. The Game Theory is good, better than The Tipping Point. Common's Be is my favorite latest hip hop album though it was from last year. Blackalicious is probably my favorite hip hop group now that J5 has gone down a few with Feedback. Do you know why Cut Chemist left the group?
I just recently found out Blackalicious is coming to Pittsburgh friday. So I'm gonna miss it cause I didn't know about it in time to get off for work. I reccomend the album Nia if you haven't heard it already.
Not sure about Cut Chemist, he had been doing a lot of touring with DJ Shadow (Brainfreeze) & I guess he felt he could make more money by himself?
He was in Japan last month, I thought about going but his solo album did nothing for me, it's not bad but it's not that good either.
Blackalicious are great, I have Nia & Blazing Arrows, don't have the new one yet. Have you seen Scratch? The way Z-Trip cuts up Alphabet Aerobics is amazing.
I love Common, I saw him live a couple of years ago & actually shared the stage with him to battle-rap another guy from the crowd. I met him afterwards & he was so stoned ;D

The Craft is pretty good, not as good as Nia and Blazing arrow. It's missing just a little something that the first two do to you. I'm not sure what that thing is but its not on every track. I can't find my fucking Black Star cd which bugs me, I think my nephew has been stealing random posessions.

At least he has good taste in music ;)

No he doesn't: Good Charlotte, Paul Wall. I don't really know what else he listens to.

Chris Cornell - Sunshower
"This stunning song penned by Chris Cornell appears on the soundtrack to the film Great Expectations, starring Ethan Hawke and Gwenneth Paltrow. Cornell performed it live while touring on his first solo album, 2000's Euphoria Morning."
Anyone else heard the new track (No Such Thing) from Chris's 2nd solo album on his myspace page?
http://www.myspace.com/chriscornell
After Audioshit I was hoping for something a little quieter, more retrospective.
Not a bad song but not that good either :-/
Any thoughts?

Don't like the new Pearl Jam? Why not? At least it's consistant.
Actually, didn't love the song. We don't agree on Audioslave but I love the softer side of Chris myself. I listen to the above unplugged all the time and actually found a better source somewhere that doesn't have the small feedback. I meant to post it here but I can't remember where the link is now.

My relationship with Pearl Jam has always been very up & down. I was a huge fan right from the start but they lost me for a few years in the middle there. Riot Act pulled me right back in & I went crazy buying all the bootlegs etc. I was really looking forward to The Avocado but it just doesn't do anything for me.

I liked it initially but I rarely reach for it.

Another new song on Chris's myspace She'll Never Be Your Man:
http://www.myspace.com/chriscornell
Very average IMO.
I read two 3/5 star reviews in the UK press.
I was so looking forward to this but I doubt I'll buy it now :-/
Okay... so apparently I like Chris Cornell.

Sweet. You have had an epiphany?

I heard him do this live on Howard Stern - it had to be a year ago. Very average is being generous. He was talking about what the song was about and the jist of it was that one of his friend's girlfriends left him for a..............LESBIAN!!!! And how that was particullary awfull and how that.................LESBIAN will never have a.............PENIS, so she can never be your man. "Hit Me Baby, One More Time" has more depth.

My iPod was shuffling all of my James Bond playlists (over 600 songs) and Casino Royale kind of got me in the mood for Soundgarden. Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Chris Cornell's solo stuff is all linked together on my iPod... so I've found myself listening to this stuff the past couple of days.
I really dig Ghosts, from Carry On.

They did that to me, but after a while I just got sidetracked from them & into all sorts of other music & just went on. Nothing against em, just find myself not really searching them out of my collection
I did break out the first 3 - Stone Temple Pilots albums the other day - I still dig that for time to time
Seriously...wtf?!! Even my good man BH will have a hard time defending these new tracks ;)

CC has & always will be one of my fav vocalists of all time...he still sounds great but can't write a good tune for sh*t these days :'(

I really liked Euphoria Morning but Carry On just isn't doing anything for me. I don't know whats happened to him lately perhaps it's fatherhood or married life or lack of drug use.
I'm just thankful I got to see him on the EM tour, that was a great show. Natasha Shneider and Alain Johannes (Eleven) also had a lot to do with that album and tour. They wrote, produced, and played on EM and thus had a rather large influence on the sound of the album. Natasha was GREAT at the show I went to, unfortunately she passed away from cancer in July this year. Maybe he could hook back but with Johannes for his next album.
Yeah Euphoria Morning is excellent.
I'm very jealous that you saw him on that tour Tenn...were you lucky enough to see Soundgarden? I saw them in London with the might Tad many moons again, incredible show!
Soundgarden are one of my favourite bands ever. I saw Chris last year and he sounded awesome. But I wish Kim, Ben and Matt were there to back him up. I really don't like the new stuff.

No I didn't get to see them. If I ever get that time machine going I'm stopping off at '88 for a show from the Fopp days.
