I'm so glad you posted about this.  My brother told me last night and it just floored me.  Just this weekend, we were trading music and he had a whole slew of Jerry Reed stuff.  Sunday he was talking about writing Jerry a letter thanking him for his service in music.  Of course, I'm a big fan of Smokey and the Bandit series and all of his fine work on Scooby-Doo.

This guy was very funny, but make no mistake about it...he was a fine songwriter, and a damn fine guitar player if I do say so my damn self.

Rest in peace, Jerry Reed.   :'(

I remember being a kid and watching Scooby Doo and loving the Jerry Reed episode.

I love Jerry's Reed & was very sad when I read this.

The highest compliment his music received IMO was when Elvis opened the '68 Comeback Special with Jerry's Guitar Man. Elvis never looked or sounded better & I'm sure Jerry must have been real proud.
