We had a thread for this ages ago but I can't find it so I'm starting a new one. I'm always interested to see what people have in their collections.

I'm assuming you mean official releases? If not, get ready for the Phishheads and Deadheads to chime in with huge totals.
QuoteI'm assuming you mean official releases? If not, get ready for the Phishheads and Deadheads to chime in with huge totals.
Haha I did wonder about that one but didn't want to make too many rules. How about official releases only but you can still list how many bootlegs etc you have in a side bracket?
Pearl Jam: 8 (+ 25 bootlegs) I don't know, something like that?

;D ;D
Yeah, my Phish CD count would be off the charts and probably 200 or more.
Without looking, Id estimate studio releases being something like:
MMJ: 8
Bob Dylan: 8
Phish: 8
Ben Harper: 8
Beck: 8
Talking Heads: 8
Rolling Stones: 8
Led Zeppelin: 8
Wu Tang/Solo albums: 8
MF Doom: 8
Pavement/Solo Malkmus: 8
....and then a lot of bands where I might have 3-6 albums
Alright there Capt8? ;)
I'm at work, but I know I own over 35 Zappa albums (which isn't a lot to Zappa heads), every Who album, every Zeppelin and most of the Hendrix releases. Of course, I own all the real Allman Brothers albums, but I refuse to buy the two Arista years releases (I did buy a comp though); I own tons of Dead, Phish, Coltrane, Miles Davis, Jeff Beck etc...
The artists/groups who take up the most space on my shelves:
Tom Waits: 24
Neil Young: 19
Bob Dylan: 22
MMJ: 13
R.E.M.: 12
The Beatles: 16
Bruce Springsteen: 13
QuoteI'm at work, but I know I own over 35 Zappa albums (which isn't a lot to Zappa heads)
I thought Tracy was going to be the champion with his 31 Rush albums ;)

Trust me, those are some good estimation skills.
I dont have an iPod, so I cant instantly figure out how much I got of what artist and such.
Probably throw in the Beatles, Grateful Dead, and 1 or 2 other bands in the mix, and those are the leading candidates.
I know there's a bunch or artists where I own 2-3 or so though
I've got lots of 5s, 6s, 7s & 8's - Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Oasis, Mogwai, Gang Starr, The Roots, Metallica, Black Crowes, Doves, Elbow, Radiohead etc etc

Just curious jbones, do you have all of both the US and UK Beatles releases?
Just the UK releases, never got those capitol box set's they put out a few years ago. Same with the early Stones, only the UK releases except for Flowers which was US only.
Bob Dylan 58

Methinks you waaaaay underestimated the PJ shows. I thought I had about 50 shows from the early nineties back when I collected boots. :-?
PJ disclaimer there are hundreds of discs several tours worth I only counted what I had in my Itunes library ;)

hmmmm..... I'm weak on these 3 ::) ;)
I have 16 Belle and Sebastian albums.
13 Animal Collective (+ 3 Panda Bear solo + 1 Avey Tare solo)
11 Microphones/Mount Eerie (same shit, different name)
10 Pavement (+ 3 Stephen Malkmus solo)
I don't know if it counts, but together with my dude we got 21 Sparks albums. That's pretty fucked up. Also they're mostly downloaded.
