Current is airing the making of Evil Urges tomorrow night at 10/9 central. I think it's the one taped at SXSW last year where they took them out to Austin Zoo. I may be wrong.
sorry if this was posted somewhere already...
:-?
What is current?
Yes, I am old.
Ooh awesome! Thanks!
Current is a channel.
Directv - 358
Dish Network - 196
Comcast - 107
AT&T Uverse - 189
Time Warner - check listings
Methinks it may not be available where I live. I'll have to enjoy vicariously through y'all.
I looked on the Current description and it says something about the making of Evil Urges and it also has something about their Lolla show in 07.
Current TV is not just a channel!
It was started by Al Gore!
AlGore-o-vision.
My cable provider sucks A$$. No current no fuse, and they charge the shit out of me. I think it's time for satelite.
Going to try to record the hell out of it.
I dont see it on charters channel listing. Can anyone tell me otherwise?

Yeah Current was the channel a while back that aired the "all eyes on me" From Lolla. They played Gideon with the youth orchestra and it's amazing... You can check out both of these on youtube if you don't get Current...
I thought Current was for HD subscribers only?

Interesting. I'm on cablevision. Maybe I'll switch over. I"m having problems with cablevision anyway.
Nice!
Turns out I do have this channel. Sweet!
For those of you who missed it, you didn't miss much. Current sucks. I think they try to hard to be morden or something. The MMJ part was like 12 minutes long. You can watch it on their website too I guess.
It was quite short. Some good footage though.
Aw, I thought it was nice. I hadn't seen that version of "Gideon" compiled from all the audience footage from Lolla '07, and I thought that was really cool.

Anyone catch the 34 at 3:30 into the clip? ;D ;D ;D It's there...
Nice to see the footage from the 2008 SXSW shows, too. I remember Jim singing all of "Highly Suspicious" over his right shoulder, with his back to the audience like Prince ;D So glad that made it into the video!

I thought it was pretty good too. I haven't watched enough Current to justify an opinion either way, but Jim gave it props, saying that he appreciated the relationship b/w MMJ and Current or something to that effect.
And I really liked how they peek into the band's feelings on busting out songs for the first time to the audiences. Bo had a pretty funny head-bob at one point talking about it.
I was disappointed. Mostly because I've seen most of it before and was expecting unseen footage.
Yeah, Current actually showed this back in the fall. No new footage.
The Gideon video is on this site under the Videos tab.
Just watched this on YouTube.
Does anyone know if there's a longer feature or if it's available on DVD anywhere?
Would be cool to include "The Making of Evil Urges" should they decide to release a Deluxe Edition of the album. Not suggesting that they go commercial, but so many crap albums get the deluxe treatment these days, I'd really go for my favourite 2008 LP with loaded goodies!!! :D
On the subject of extras, has anyone watched The Flaming Lips' Christmas on Mars? I've got it, but am afraid it might throw me off them...
Cheers,
Al
I caught a few days ago when my wife happened upon it right when it was starting. It wasn't that great. Maybe twenty minutes of that half hour was the show, and I'd actually seen most of it already.
