Anybody here into these guys? Real trippy stuff from San Francisco. I like what I hear of them (I saw the Black Keys at Terminal 5 in NYC and before they came onstage they were playing "We Ask You To Ride").
Anyone into them?

Heard their latest album. Pretty psychedelic shit! 8-)
Oh yeah! Love these guys. Have all their shit, but want mo'. I heard We Ask You to Ride at Dan's solo show. I'm glad you said something about it. Because I wondered if it was just the venue playing the music, or if Dan had something to do with it. I think Dan's love for them has something to do with the maracas, but was very pleased to hear the song before the show. Shrinking Moon for You gets me amped!
Ever heard of The Bad Trips? They're somewhat similar, I'd think you'd like them.

That's interesting that you heard the same song before Dan's solo gig. Must be a fan. How was Dan's solo show?
I'll check out these Bad Trips... thanks!
Dan's solo show was really fun. The opening band was pretty good,Hacienda. They played back up for Dan. Having Patrick in the band was a nice treat. I didn't think it was loud enough, but still.
Sweet that you started this thread, because they're probably my most played band, other than MMJ. Funny story about them today. I got into a "radio volume" battle at work, so I played the Shjips. I got maybe 3 songs in, and he gave up. 8-)

That's awesome. Yeah I played them the other night in my apartment and maybe 2 minutes into "Dance, California" my wife came storming out yelling what the hell are you listening to?! :D
Very cool little band...
Good stuff! I have to explore some more of this. Thanks for posting it. 8-)

Yeah, either you love them or you hate them. Oh well, can't make everyone a fan. Wish I could, I'll keep trying.
Someone posted a record label a while back from (I think) the Seattle area, and most of it sounded kinda like the Wooden Shjips. I'll see if I can find that, I can't remember the name of it. I'd like to hear it again, and I'd think everyone in this thread would like it.
Man these dudes are awesome. Cant believe its taken me this long to get into them.
I like Back To Land. Streaming here: http://www.stereogum.com/1554151/stream-wooden-shjips-back-to-land/mp3s/album-stream/ (http://www.stereogum.com/1554151/stream-wooden-shjips-back-to-land/mp3s/album-stream/)
