I lost a post to the forum change about Arthur Alexander. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Alexander (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Alexander)
In the early 90s, I heard an NPR story about a guy who was a great singer/songwriter of R&B in the early 60s. He fell on bad times, with alcohol and drugs, was driving a school bus for a spell, then released one more album- to critical acclaim- before he died.
I'd love to see MMJ do a cover of an Arthur Alexander song.
Here's a tune from 1962, which was covered a year later by The Beatles.
Arthur Alexander - Anna (Go to Him) (1962) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rHcvYa93sU#)
Go to Amazon for his last album which includes live NPR performances and clips from the interview that first made me aware of him.

Here's a demo from that CD

Here's another from '62, covered by the Rolling Stones in '64.
