"don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down..."
8 beautifully, beautifully written words.
"It's the art of feeling naked in your clothes."
Absolutely love those lyrics!
"the fact that my heart's beatin, is all the proof you need"
or
"your ass, it draws me in, like a Bermuda highway." :)
too many to probably list.
peanut butter pudding surprise
"Take your money and your drugs"
My tag line ::)
Talk is often cheap and filled with air... does it get more Simply splendid than that? :)
ohh this feeling it is wonderful
don't you ever turn it off
"Hi ohhhhhhh!"
"A bitch to suck your nuts"
Or
"Kenny Loggins"
"nightjails. poolhalls. some things are everywhere
so for the past I'm diggin a grave so big, it will swallow up the sea...
dancefloors. headlights. in my blood there's gasoline
for an urban boy on a dirty tour I never felt so clean"
"you'll be right here forever.
We'll go thru this thing together,
And on heaven's golden shore we'll lay our heads"
"But only in time you find...
That all things come back around,
And just like the frown, we'll turn them upside down"
"Sometimes this world will leave you, lord,
Kickin and a screamin, wonderin if you'll see the next day through.
But as for me I do believe that good luck comes from tryin,
So until I get mine ill work me the whole day through."
"I know there's someone that loves up above
And want to fix you a dream.
He wants to sit down and think.
He wants to pour you a drink.
And you wont feel a thing. You wont feel a thing."
"With the sun on my shoulders
And the wind at my back,
I will never grow older
At least not in my mind"
Sorry I couldn't pick one :)
"A good showerhead and my right hand - the two best lovers that I ever had."

I loved the way he described coming up with this line at storytellers.
He was talking about how he had been noticing that history is cyclical and we often repeat past mistakes because we fail to notice this. The line he originally though of was "They are the innovators, we are the imitators."
But then he said to himself, "You know, FUCK THAT! We are the innovators!" He said he wanted to be defiant.
Awesome.

yeah hearing that made the song all that much better..
I was born in east Kentucky, home of where the grass is dyed.
(not so much as the line, more so the way that he sings it)
Actually, in all seriousness....
"The fact that my heart's beating, is all the proof you need."
And the the whole last verse in One in the same.

Agreed, Ghosts...great answer... ;) :)
it's a bad idea, cause they're down on their luck and they've lost touch
with their bleeding hearts.
oh, and of course, the one that Ghosts mentioned :o

Well technically mentioned 3.
"A bitch to suck your nuts"
"Kenny Loggins"
and
" The fact that my heart's beating, is all the proof you need"
I think all of them are superb. And let's not forget about the last verse in One in the same. Also splendid.

whats the deal with this verse? The only version I have with this is the 2 meter sessions, but I always assumed it wasa piece of a cover as an intro
When they released the T5 Butch Cassidy recording I went back to look at the lyrics.. and its probably my favorite song now (fav song changes OFTEN).
Anyway:
"They say you never even killed a man, till it came right down to your final stand"
And:
"'Cause a soldier's death is so much better than defeat just hangin' around"

Well e, I caught this verse of "I Will Be There When You Die" from the Chapter 2 Early Recordings EP. Not sure if its a cover or not?
