wtf? was supposed to be 10 am today, I got online at 9:45 and it's already on sale, and most of the floor is sold.
completely jacked. I've never seen such a thing on TM.

Me either!
That is SO not cool. What's up with that TM? Yet another reason to hate ticketmaster.

It's stuff like this, outrageous ticket fees, redirecting to sister -scalper sites, that have earned them the much deserved, imo, nickname... Ticketbastard!
My kids look at some of my old stubs and can't believe I saw Led Zep and others for less than they pay in fees today.
A summer or two back I got an Allmans lawn seat for $22.00 face, and with fees it came to $38.00! WTF?
Sorry to Johnnyyac your thead Walter, but I needed to vent. ;)

this has happened before, not to mention the other million shady things ticketmaster does.
They put a 24 hr ban on me for clicking and refreshing too many times yesterday and said i was a scalper - i called them and they flat denied any lock-outs and said it was something else technical. I just emailed them and told them to check my TM order history and see if I look like a scalper to them, then they lifted the ban shortly after. but what can we do about these shady practices.
and we all already know they keep all the good tickets and scalp them on their own on one of their "sister" sites.
we cant do shit about TM- theres no other way to buy tix - i wish we could buy tix straight from the bands without having to go through TM, but im sure there's contracts and legalities and such - thats why we need the gov't to step in and stop all this price gouging/scalping/shady TM practices
>:( >:( >:(
so who got good seats? I got 2 tix from the Fri presale and finally just settled on these after they kept getting worse and worse in the search
please list your seat location or general area if thats too much info for you to spill :D
I got ORCH Y on the outside rows (its off to the side so hopefully not weird angle)
not great seats when i consider how much stress and anxiety i had to go through and deal with TM
I got row ZZ just left of center. It is the last row on the floor, but only 36 rows back. I ain't complaining one bit. The dilemma for me is no one I know locally really cares about them. I turned many out of state friends on to them, gave out the Okonosis DVD for X-MAS, but I will have to take a newbie to the show.
I went for the MEZZ (3rd row on the aisle toward the left) rather than be row XX below. The thing about being far back ORCH is that Mezzanine is right over your head and kinda cramps the style IMO. The Mezz hangs out over those seats and is closer and less claustrophobic than the XX type of seats. Either way, this place is tiny small and everyone should have no problems seeing.
I just bought a second set of tickets that are the back of the mezz. I am thinking I will use those and probably give the lower ones to my sons.
well that explains what happened to me this morning, too.
walterfredo, did you get any tix? i did buy one, but damn i was shocked at what was available out of the gate.
I got lucky on Weds (fan presale) and after being shut out immediately at noon, an hour and 10 min later (after hitting refresh a million times) it let me in and i grabbed 2 seats ORCH row J (Jim's side of the stage). I'm so thankful that i stuck with it and didn't give up, as it seemed all the close seats were gone even before Friday's TM presale. Every seat in the house at pantages is gonna be a good one, so anybody with tix should be stoked!

I personally wonder about anyone with ticket to this show that questions their seats. It is a living room show, where the seats are sloped for a good view. Only 36 rows on the floor. The worst seat in the house are a lottery ticket winner.

Yes, I did get us tickets, but they're not that great. Row xx on the floor, and as someone mentioned, we'll have the balcony directly above our heads, which I'm not a fan of at all. But, I do have tickets and for that I'm happy.
I tried on all 3 on sales. The first one was a major swing and a miss, got nothing. Then on Friday for the TM presale, a kind soul pm'd me the password, but I pulled a bonehead move. We were on vacation and my mind was partially elsewhere. For some reason I thought the presale was noon pacific, like the one on wednesday. At about 10:45 I remembered it was actually at 10, and at that point I pulled the row XX and just bought them. Then on Saturday we were up at a friends house in the mountains and had to drive into Arcata to get an internet connection, that's when the whole on sale early debacle happened and I was pissed. I tried for an hour to get better seats on the floor, until TM apparently locked my computer out of their system and I ended up getting nothing that day. So....yes, we do have tickets, but not the greatest. I will be attentively looking to upgrade if possible.
and a big F U to ticketmaster!
i was clicking before 10 and it wasn't on sale for me.
f'n ticketbastard , they pull this stuff sometimes though!!

Sorry to hear about all of that Walter - I'm sure the show will more than make up for it, even if you don't upgrade !
That's a bummer - hope you guys can upgrade!
Ticketmaster! *shakes fist*
indeed. It's certainly not a big deal if I don't find better seats, I just like being able to see the entire venue and not have a ceiling a couple feet above my head. I'm really excited about this show. Never been to this venue before....I'm pretty sure the hollywood walk of fame is right outside.
at least you were in arcata! :coffee:
the seating chart makes it look like there are 50+ rows on the floor. didn't know it was so much smaller. nice!
i will crab openly about this only one time: i prefer to sit closer to the stage because the further back in the crowd i go, the more distracted the attendees can be. i can have a great time just about anywhere at a show. i just like to limit the chances of chatty-neighbors. (at one show i had three girls behind me who were having an argument. lame.)

indeed. I lived up there for a long time (did my undergrad at Humboldt State), it was nice to get back up there, and some close friends had their first child while we were there (which was the real reason for the trip).
We hit up 4 wineries and 6 breweries on the trip
walterf. i went to humboldt, too! lived up there in 1989-1996. when were you there?
the walk of fame is right outside the theater. and there is lots of great beer on tap 2 blocks away.
i went to the box office to get my tix saturday. spent some quality time on that stretch of sidewalk. ;)

I feel you on this, ms. y.
Also, hi. :)

I lived up there 1994 to 1999. And I lived all over the area over the course of my time. Started in Eureka (Cutten)>Arcata (Sunny Brae)>McKinleyville>Fieldbrook> Dows Prarie> Fieldbrook. Went to College of the Redwoods before transferring to HSU. Worked at Figueridos video for a bit and Ramone's Bakery for several years. I really miss it, it's a completely different world up there.
wow, you really lived all over! i sold my car when i moved up there so i had to stay close to town. lived for a few years right by the bird sanctuary. still carry my fondness for herons & egrets to this day.
ramone's! one of my oldest friends was a counter dude there. and one of my roommates. spent a LOT of time in the old town eureka & union town ramone's. i worked at the video experience (rivals!), metro cds when it first opened, abruzzi restaurant...
it's been a few years since i've been there. last visit included a burrito from rico's and a crabs baseball game.

awesome, we went there (arcata marsh) for a couple of hours on saturday and did some bird-watching, went there immediately after getting disgruntle over the TM on sale!
We'll have to chat about pre-show beers in LA when it gets closer to show date.
You guys just made me homesick for Arcata.
HSU class of 2005.
i once met a guy in line for an mmj show at the l.a. greek who had a "humboldt" tattoo. strong humboldt showing among mmj fans.
I'm thinking about getting 'Lumberjack Pride' in old English across my chest.
;D ;D
maybe i'll get a Los Bagels tattoo over my heart. :coffee:
mmm, slugs.
My family vacation plans changed yesterday and now I am available to make the Pantages show. I've never seen MMJ yet, but my wife and I watch Okonokos pretty frequently and consider MMJ live one of only a handful of current rock bands who can hold a candle to the great masters of the 70s.
So if anyone is upgrading or has a pair of tix to unload for the LA show for some other reason, we'd be stoked if you sold 'em to us.
I know I don't post much around here, but I'm not a flakey opportunist, just an honest lover of rock.
Thanks for your consideration.
I find it interesting how many Humboldt folk enjoy MMJ...is there a connection between the two?
